I will add though that our starting five that night was Pek, Dante, AK, Shved and Luke, and they still only beat us by 5. I still say we blow them away on Wednesday.

But I got admit...good rebittal :thumb:

If I remember correctly, they were also shooting the ball ridiculously. Gahh. That game still hurts.

SJM is right. Portland is a horrible match-up for us and they have had our number over the past couple of years. Similar to Golden State whenever we play them, Portland typically kills us with their outside shooting. I don't expect things to be any different when we play them in a few nights. These guys are the real deal. I'm hoping we either win tonight or @LAL. But I don't think we stand much of a chance against Portland or the Clippers.

Should we start the "WTF... Wes Mathews can't miss" thread now... or should we wait until the night of the game?

Yes, Wesley Matthews has demonstrated a knack for lighting up Luke Ridnour in the past. But my sources say that Luke will not be playing at shooting guard for the Wolves Wednesday night. Let's see if Wesley can have similar success against someone his own size. I wouldn't be surprised to see Adelman put Corey or LMaM on him during the game if he threatens to go off. Even Martin with his length will bother Matthews more than Luke.

Portland's shooting has been ridiculous this year. Take a look at their stats...only 6 guys shoot threes for them, but of those Mo Williams has the lowest 3-point percentage of .385. That's absurd. But good shooting requires legs, and I still say Portland isn't going to have them Wednesday.

I'll be in an ambien fog high over the Atlantic during the game, so unfortunately I won't be able to watch the Wolves blowing the Blazers out by 15! I'm still much more concerned about tonight than Wednesday.

May I ask why we don't stand a chance against the Blazers or Clippers?

Blazers: Playing their fourth game in five days when we face them. PHI, DET (OT), CLE and then us. If they aren't fatigued by our game, then they should be checked by the league for performance enhancers. Jumpshooting team who shouldn't have their legs. They swept us 4-0 last year, but it'd be wrong to forget that we were without so many players last year. I expect us to beat them Wednesday AT HOME before heading to LA.

Clippers: Played them twice and both games have come down to the last minute. Wolves lost by one possession in both games, with one of them being an easy tip-in that Love cashes in 19 times out of 20. The other was a game Minnesota was in position to win, but Chris Paul started making everything from mid-range. Yes, I understand CP3 is capable of taking over games, but I don't see how we don't stand a chance against them. To me, it's a coin toss as to who wins. Add that we get to catch the Clips on the second half of their B2B after they run all night against the Nuggets. Tired legs should be in effect for them whereas we have a day inbetween our LA games.

Good find that the Clip Joint will be playing the back half of a BTB against us, cam...I hadn't noticed that. The schedule is really starting to turn in our favor. They'll be running their asses off against the Nuggets, while the Wolves are relaxing and enjoying a warm LA evening. I'm moving the Clips game from the "can't win" column to the "you never know" column. Can you imagine the excitement there will be on this board if we finished our toughest stretch of the season 7-2???!!!

DET, PHI, MEM and POR. I'm 4-5 in the games I picked us to win. Damn that Celtics game. Gotta take care of the Lakers at the end of the week. I expect Corey to guard Kobe, which honestly, I feel really good about. Should mop the floor with them barring ridiculous shooting.
