No, not even close. Jason was all about flash and scoring. He wasn't what you call a high IQ player. Ricky is a high IQ true pass-first PG who orchestrates the offense and had a deep understanding of the game.

Ricky has more TO's per game in all 3 seasons he's played then Jason had in any season besides one, I wouldn't say he was a low IQ player

"Ultimately, my main point is that Ricky is the least of this team's concerns going forward."

I view Ricky's shooting as the biggest problem that this team faces. Comparing Ricky's ability to score to either Kidd or Jason Williams is way off. Both were significantly more efficient scorers that Rubio is.

If Ricky is not able to become and all-star caliber player, then we need to re-examine how this team is built and we need to re-start rebuilding this team.

Finding other role players, or better bench players is much easier to do than trying to build a contenting team around one of the worst shooters in the history of the NBA.

For the most part---Rubio wise, I would have to agree. Ricky needs to be a little more efficient when it comes to his shooting (low percentages). We all knew this---so why is it such a shock to everyone?

For a long time, we wanted was an unselfish PG that was a pass first guy. We have that. To boot, he's also a pretty darn good defender too (2nd in steals?).

Remember that even now, we don't have our "full" team together. Honestly, can you imagine when Chase gets back? Rubio drives and has Love at the top with Chase and Martin on the corners and a Pek for an easy layup. I think that's the vision that Flip has. Instead, we have Brewer hoisting that 3s when we just handed a fat check to Pek. This is more of my conern.

Anyway, we are only about a dozen games into the young season. These guys are just "jelling" right now. If this was April, and we're losing, then our worries are validated, but it's so darn early that I'm not too concern.
