Possible targets to strengthen our bench
Re: Possible targets to strengthen our bench
Williams for Lee is the type of deal that could be good for this team but I don't see the fit with the Celtics at this point. Maybe we could get a 3rd team involved. Its generally too early to look at trades those type of things will heat up in around a month or more unless there are specific injuries that make teams look for replacements.

What about involving TOR in the BOS/MIN deal?
Ross to Boston
Lee to Sota
DWill to Toronto
I'm sure there's a third team out there that could be involved.

I like trying to get Rush from Utah when he gets healthy. A career 41.3% 3 point shooter with legitimate size to backup Martin. He could probably be had for anyone young as Utah is pretty much done already. Could be a nice cheap backup to re-sign as well going into the future because of the injury history. Another trade that wouldn't really be ideal financially, but would fill a need would be D Will and Shved to Houston for Asik. While he gets paid 15 million next year, his cap hit is only just over 8 and he would give us Pek injury insurance along with a true rim protector to backup Pek. Like others have said, D Will and Shved are giving us nothing right now, so why not get a true rim protecting C for essentially the same cost cap wise. Maybe throw in Ronny and get Donatas back so they get a backup C out of the deal.

I've been thinking of a realistic deal to get Asik, but I figure everyone on here would rip me for it.

No way Houston would do that deal.

I'm sure they could do better, but I doubt it's the worst offer they could get. D-Will would work well next to Dwight I think. Stretch the floor.

Its not the worst offer but houston dont need to settle for anything less than good offers right now for asik. They are not in a hurry to shop asik and asik has very good value around the league. Mchale wont play shved and williams is not much of an upgrade for the rockets at the 4.

What about a three team deal?
Wolves - Asik
Rockets - Thad Young
76ers - D Will and Shved, protected Rockets 1st.
That seems to be fair value all around. The 76ers aren't going to want to keep winning all year and this would get them 3 young assets for Thad.

Thad's 24, though. If he was 27-28, I'd say of course they take it. Problem is, he's only a couple years older than D-Will and a ton better than him.

The primary hindrance on this deal is that I believe that Houston wants to win now. This would delay Houston reaching their peak till D-Will and Shved are gone.
