Shabazz or D Will and next years first for Turner?
Shabazz or D Will and next years first for Turner?
Before you ask why would Philly do that, heres my argument.. The 76ers are obviously looking ahead to next years blue chip players in the draft.. Part of the value in trading Turner to us is it guarantees they'll lose more games.. Turner is showing himself to be a solid player, a guy thats gonna be heavily involved in wins that were unforseen at the start of the year.. Thats not what Philly wants and dangling them a lesser player with whats looking like a 1st rnd pick in the twenties might be all it will take.. If theyre stockpiling 1st rounders a pick in the 20's could be a very valuable tool to move up further in the draft. That organiztion is looking 4-5 years down the road, the Wolves cant look past Loves contract.

I was going to ask why would the Wolves do that...
I love Turner and have been pretty vocal about wanting Sota to trade for him. Just don't think D-Will or Shabazz plus a first is the right value for us. D-Will straight up and I'm all for it. D-Will and Shved for Turner and I'm for it.

D-Will and Dieng for Turner and I'm still for it. That's after Turiaf comes back, though.

Our first is going to Phoenix from the Wes deal I believe. That means we can't trade another first until 2016 draft.
A deal for Turner has to start with some type of agreement for a contract extension. He will be a RFA next season, but there were rumors that his agent was looking for a big payday.

Cam, that's too much.

Shit I forgot about the Wes deal, that guys still screwing us over. lol. If Turners looking for a big payday than I dont see how the Wolves could make it work anyways. I cant help but wonder what it would take to get Korver.. Prolly alot I suppose, he's avg 15 pts a game and his shooting percantages are ridiculous for a three pt specialist.

This team needs Dieng becuz their a lil light at the center position, but if he was disposable why would you think thats too much? Two guys that cant get off the bench for a bonafide starter?

Philly used the second pick in the draft three years ago to draft Turner, hoping that he would live up to his enormous potential. He disappointed his first two years, but this year is playing like the guy they thought he would be. 23, 6 and 3 so far, with the 5th highest PER among league SF's. I have to believe that the only thing Philly would accept from us would be one of our big 4, since we don't have anything attractive to offer in draft picks. Packaging backup players to land a starter is always a fan's dream...clears out some of the trash on a roster while picking up a starter. But Philly would have to be desperate to do a deal like that, and I don't see them as being desperate at this point.
The argument for the trade is that they are both underperforming #2 picks. But the argument breaks down because Turner appears to be the player they expected him to be, and Derrick does not. And don't think Philly doesn't see the difference in the two players' motor either.
I just don't see a deal for turner happening with us not having a 2014 #1 to offer.
