Wolves and Pek Reach Agreement
Marc Stein ?@ESPNSteinLine 10m
This just in: I'm told Nikola Pekovic and Wolves have agreed to five-year deal worth $60 million

Sources with knowledge of deal say contract will also include up to $8 million in additional incentive-related bonuses for Pekovic
Looks like the Wolves have reached a deal. Comes out to 12mil/yr. Pek got the extra year, Wolves stayed pat on yearly commitment. Wonder how Love feels about this after all that fuss of not giving him the 5th year? Hopefully the incentives are difficult to reach...

This is pretty much what we thought it was going to be all along - I think this elongated negotiation was more about Pek sitting out of the Euro League than it was coming to terms.

Looks like Schwartz won that deal. Yikes. That 5th year is a kick in the sack. But it's not my money. Go Wolves. "The Bruise Brothers"-I like it!

Was Brad Miller's mentorship part of the deal?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not like they gave the designated player 5 year deal to Pek over Love because Pek wasn't subject to that rule since he wasn't on rookie scale.

So do we have the best forward combo in the league? I'm thinking the Grizzlies with Z-Bo and mark you could argue. Of course this is if K Love can play to the ability that he was and if both stay healthy.

I'll take Love/Pek over any other 4/5 duo on any other team. West/Hibbert, Boozer/Noah, ZBo/Gasol, etc. I've been saying this and I still believe it.
Re: Wolves and Pek Reach Agreement
For 5 years, the multiplier is 5.75. A 60 mil contract with 7.5% raises would have a first year salary of 10.4 mil. I am fine with that. It's also possible they just did 12 mil per year for 5 years...

No, you are right. It is simply a 5-year deal. I don't think it will be a big deal and either way this deal was given under different management so it would be difficult to justify Love getting mad about it.
