Who would be our backup wings? Wouldn't want to trade Bud anyway, honestly. I really like what he brings to the team when healthy -- key words "when healthy".
What does Bud bring to the team? He is a decent 3pt shooter......
Good athlete, perfect for this offense, smart basketball player, underrated passing ability... His defense isn't as bad as it's made out to be, imo. Only thing to really dislike about Bud is how he hasn't been able to stay healthy for us.
Bud mostly stands in the corner, passes around the perimeter and is able to dunk the ball. His defense was a lot worse than I expected. Maybe that was due to him coming back from the knee injury, but it was a torn meniscus, not an ACL. This why I get so tired of the criticism of DW. Adelman said that DW needed to be more aggressive taking the ball to the hole, but he is the only one of our SF's that can actually do that. He is also the only one that gets to the line at a nice rate.

I'd actually say D-Will does more standing in the corner than anyone on the team does. He just waits for the ball and when he gets it he either throws up a jumper or plays one-on-one with his defender. It's sometimes effective, but head-scratching nonetheless.
And then of course there is the health issue. DW hasn't missed a game due to injury, has he. Maybe our FO and staff should start putting a little more stock in that, rather than blaming injuries for derailing the team. At some point, shouldn't they be responsible for filling the team with injury prone players??

In fairness DW doesn't stand in the corner, he stands out at the elbow, which is a staple of Adelman's offense (I thought).
Bud is well known for moving well without the ball. SJM I don't think you are giving Bud his due when healthy.
If Flip wasn't willing to sign AK what makes anyone think he would trade for Wallace who is even less likely to stay on the court and has a massive stupid contract the the Nets were LUCKY to be able to unload. No way I trade for him unless the Celtics pay us to take him which seems unlikely.

Average of 68 games a year. Yes, not the greatest number, but with how hard he plays it makes sense. I'd rather have 68 games of Wallace starting at SF instead of Brewer, but that's just me. His contract is terrible. I said that already. Was just listing off guys that came to mind because there really hasn't been too many names thrown around.

Well said, SJM. Assuming the Wolves keep Hummel as expected, the Wolves will have 5 roster players who are fairly viewed as injury prone -- Love, Pekovic, Martin, Budinger and Hummel. And Ricky is 18 months removed from surgery to repair two torn ligaments, but I didn't count him because doesn't have a history of repeat or multiple injuries. Assuming we keep Price as expected, we'll have another player with a surgically repaired knee.
In addition to needing a starting caliber SF, this team needs more defense and durability. That's why Flip should have kept Jeffers or Brown instead of Hummel and Price.
Wilson chandler is a guy that would ideal for us. A big, athletic and strong sf and a capable defender who can play 4 in a small ball lineup. Salary wise, chandler for dw would fit. I dont think denver would do it though until gallo comes back healthy from his acl injury.
Marvin Williams could be an option, He has struggled playing with the jazz last season but adelmans system could be good for him. He's an expiring contract as well.
Ariza could be had for dw i believe but washington dont have another useful asset to send us after they made the deal for gortat and gave away a 1st.
Wallace is a guy we should stay away from. The more I think about it, i just wish we resign ak instead of going for brewer.
