Brewer doesn't get enough love. He had an amazing game and brought the energy we needed VS Indy. So this thread is solely being made to give you props mister Corey Brewer, Love the effort/heart

I wish I could get on board, but unfortunately the effort from Brewer only extends to the offensive end for fast break leak outs. He has been extremely lazy getting back on D, and his man defense has been average at best.

The bigger issue for me is that everyone looks at his open court baskets with tunnel vision. Most overlook the offensive rebounds and completely open 3pt looks by the opponent that result from Cory taking off down court. They also fail to calculate the TO's that result on quite a few of those down court passes.

Cory is very good at finishing those opportunities, but dunking on a wide open layup is the easier part of that play.

Maybe you should ask kevin love what he thinks about corey brewers leak outs. Look I'm the last person that will tell you brewer is perfect but his effort/production on the court is undeniable. I wish Budinger played with as much heart or could put up a 46% fg percentage

I agree with you fully on his effort on the offensive end, but I would run out of fingers if I tried to count how many times he isn't hustling back on D. I am not sure Love would be happy about the leak outs. There is a difference in being happy about it, and taking advantage of it. My observations above are why I don't put much stock in Cory's efficiency. Anybody cherry picking at the expense of our defense, should be posting a good fg%.

I think most every fan appreciates Brewer overall effort and energy, but the reality is he's still a below average starting SF. He's not bad, but he's not that good either, for all the reasons SJM cites. Do I think Adelman has made the most of his skills? Yes. But unfortunately, that still isn't very good.

I just saw Ronnie Brewer was released by Houston. I wonder if most Wolves fans would still rather have Ronnie than Corey like back in the ESPN days.

What constitutes an average starting SF? Is it statistical? Does he have to be in the top 15 SF's? Top 20? I'd say he is surely a top 20 starting small forward. If it is based off rankings of the other 29 guys then there needs to be a range like 12-18. Is it a weighted system where Durant and LeBron would flunk most everyone else?
