Deng Available

Post by Kevin Glasshands [enjin:6642795] »

Is there any realistic trade we could make for him? This would improve the team NOW, and we'd have rights to resign him in the off season. And yes I think he would resign here.

Budinger + Cunningham + Mbah a Moute and a future first rounder with lottery protection for Luol Deng gets it done probably. Doubt either team even talks about this, though.

That's quite the poo-poo platter for a former all-star two-way player.

Sidebar: Cleveland is probably the only team that might have drafted even worse than we did the last five or so years. Poor town. My hunch is Love bolts, but I'd put good money on Kylie bailing.

CLE has to trade Deng. Everybody knows this. He's not gonna re-sign there. He's already unhappy there. He's a rental right now, though I think we could re-sign him. Bud's a young-ish piece that they could rely on at SF, even with his concerns. They get a first back in the deal. I really don't see them keeping Luol past the deadline unless it's just to make a playoff push to get fans interested in their team again, but Deng's gone anyway.

I know we aren't going to trade Martin, but Martin and some for Deng instead of Waiters seems realistic. And the Cavs get a guy they know is signsed for a few years that they dont have to worry about bolting in free agency.

I could also see Shved being included in any deal. If I remember right they had interest in him when he came in the league.

I would love to trade them Martin, Barea, and LRMM for Deng. Even if it is just to clear cap space.

Cavs are not attracting any FA's. Gives them 3 solild vets to change the culture.

The time has passed to trade for Deng. I dunno why the OP said wed have his rights because hes a UFA. I would totally trade like Brew, Luc, JJ for Deng. Since you can't package Deng with another player, in a separate trade, the wolves could take Jack off the cavs hands for like chase and a 2nd rounder. I would jump on it

So it would be like

Rubio
Martin
Deng
Love
Pek

Jack
Lexi
Dante
Bazz
Turiaf

Bench is still really weak, but if you can get into the playoffs and shorten your rotation, you can go deep

I want nothing to do with Jack. He is on the wrong side of 30.

1. No there isn't
2. No it does not
3. No they do not.
4. Most pulse-having Wolves fans would like that trade. If these "vets" are so "solid", why is MIN trading them?
