I don't think anyone is trying to debate who had a better game, who had a worse game, who was more instrumental (you know I've heard this said, and I don't think I'm using the right word, is sounds right but contex wise looks weird, anyone feel free to correct me on this!) to the win.

I think I was more saying that we got away from the love and Pek at the elbow set of running plays and let Rubio free, in a sense, and it seemed we had a better offense. At the same time though, as pointed out, Loves extremely impressive game could have been a big reason for the offense being seemingly better.

Ricky was certainly more aggressive last night and it showed with the effectiveness of his teammates. Love was a little more effective but he can also drop 40 without Ricky. The more important performances were the other guys. A handful of the other guys played well off of Ricky. I brought up Ricky being held back before and it seems like since Pek has been out, there has been a change brought on by Adelman, or Ricky himself. If there is any hope of a playoff berth and being a contender someday, Ricky has to stay on this course.

Ricky was impressive last night vs an elite and great defensive team. He was great in the first half and the pacers adjusted and tried to be physical with him in the 2nd half but rubio didnt miss a step. His shooting still needs improvement and had he made his fts, he would have had a double double.

As far as who had a more impressive game last night, heck it doesnt matter for me. Love had a awesome game. He has been doing it consistently for a while now.

People talk more about rubio because we have been waiting for a game like that form him vs an elite team. Love has spoiled as with performances like that for a long time that anytime he doesnt score 20pts or grab 10 boards people will start finding faults in his game. As far as im concerned, love is a legit superstar and the best and most important player on the team. We are all rooting for rubio to finally break through and be the consistent 2nd best player on the team. Last nights performance gives us hope for that.

Ricky really did have a good game last night. What I noticed was the shots he took looked willing not forced. He doesnt always look like he wants to shoot . His one make still shows one of his big flaws. Thats shooting while floating to his left.
Winning the game with ease does help mask his 2-10 shooting tho. With Pek and Martin out the Wolves wont win many games with those numbers. But again , he did play well and with some aggression.

Ricky had a good game .

Love submitted a line that has only been replicated twice in the history of the league (40/15 with 5 threes) - and one of those was Love.

If Love is merely great instead of historically great, we lose that game. Ricky had 17 assists. Ties team record. Whoopie. He needs to put up 12+ assist as a baseline just to make up for his historically bad shooting. When he can reliably add 12-14 points (on 10-12 shots) alongside those assists, we can maybe talk about him and Love in the same breath.

to be fair the wolves were leading by double digits pretty much the whole time. Wasn't like it was a close game or anything

Love was great last night -- 42 efficient points and 15 boards. And who's the better player between Love and Ricky? Easy answer -- Kevin Love! But I think we can talk about Ricky and Love in the same breath on a night when Ricky gets 17 assists and 7 rebounds to go with some stellar defense.

A duo of Love and Ricky should be more than enough to be a 6-8 seed in the West. The problem is the rest of our roster - especially the bench.

Sometimes season ticket holders get rewarded with a game like that, lipoli, so I hope you were there. Watching on TV, it seemed like there was a lot of energy in the building. Love and Rubio were brilliant, and at least for one game, the rest of our roster didn't get in the way. I would love to see them gain some momentum out of that great effort, but Utah will be tough tonight with our top two centers out.

It makes me wonder why we don't bring Martin off the bench.

What if we went with.

PG: Ricky/Shved
SG: Brewer/Martin
SF: LRMM/Budinger
PF: Love/Cunningham
C: Pekovic/Turiaf
