Shabazz Info -- Article

Thought it was a good read and wanted to share for those who haven't read it. Love how Shabazz wants to be a game-changer. It's a good drive to get better as a player. I don't think the Wolves will have a problem with his attitude/personality.

Hopefully he looks better than he did in SL when the regular season comes. Still a ways away and now he has a taste for semi-NBA ball. He knows what to expect now (kind of). I have faith in Shabazz to be a good contributor to this team when his name is called.

I don't have high hoops for him. I think he is an NBA player, but don't see a future all-star in the making. I don't see Wally losing the honor of best SF drafted by the Wolves going away anytime soon. I really hope I am wrong though.

I'd agree, while also hoping we're wrong. I think he'll be a solid to decent starter one day though. Anything higher than that and he's exceeded my expectations. He was drafted 14th overall. Really all he's supposed to be is a role player.

The complete 180 Shabazz's career path has taken is pretty remarkable, but when expectations are that high coming out of high school I guess it's not that surprising. It sounds like he's using that as fuel to resurrect himself which is a good thing. I don't see why he can't be a solid contributor for us a in a couple of years. Like Camden said, he was drafted 14th overall so he is what he is. We weren't getting a franchise type player so I'll be happy if he can come in and be a good system player who knows his role. The potential is still there to be something more and if that potential ever comes to fruition it will be an added bonus.

In the end I feel Flip did the right thing by not overpaying to trade up and get Dipo. I'm also not going to lose any sleep over him passing up on CJ, another tweener who's more suited for the PG position anyway. Flip has been around more NBA talent than any of us could ever imagine. There's a reason why he didn't draft CJ and I trust his judgement.

I've never had a problem with Shabazz's work ethic and it seems like the attitude issues at UCLA were overblown based on one or two incidents. My issue is that I don't see NBA-level skill-sets. But if he works as hard as he says he does, hopefully he can grow into a solid role player.

Here is a link to another article on Shabazz.

Would have to agree with the author. Don't know how many caught Flip's interview by Sam Mitchell during the last Twolves summer league game. Sounds like the team wanted to let the draft picks know what their role on the team would be and that playing time will be earned.

I love when people say there is nothing to do here. LA, Chicago, NYC etc. are all fun, but can wear thin. I guess I value quiet more than I used to.

I think the quiet referred to in the headline is in reference to the quieted expectations . . .
