Game 1 of T-Wolves Summer League Today!

Post by Bruster »

Will be interesting to see what kind of player Bazz will be this afternoon. I am expecting something close to college with him taking most of the shots. Hopefully we can see some good interior D from Dieng. Two other names I want to keep an eye on are Hummel and Paul from the Big 10. Watched them all through college so it will be interesting to see how they fare vs the D-League Select.

Interesting note... the D-League select also has a player named Chris Johnson.

I bet our Chris Johnson blocks over 5 shots today.

I'm really interested in seeing how Lorenzo Brown runs the point. This team should be pretty fun to watch

Hah, I posted earlier that in one of these games he might break the record. I am hoping he beasts so maybe Rick will give him a couple of damn minutes for once. If a dude gets six blocks, six rebounds, and six points in seven minutes in the first half, you don't take him out for the rest of the game! (He came in with like three to four minutes. :furious: )

I'm excited to see Chris Johnson with the added weight. That was the big rip on him last year, that 15 pounds should really help

I really am excited to watch brown and Shabazz, I don't expect much from Deng or Johnson, just because summer league is a lot like AAU big men don't get the ball as much

So first game in the books and we lost.
Some positives from this game were
+ Brown looked good running the point, he had a few sweet dimes and even knocked down a three
+ CJ looked good getting a double double, had a pretty sweet jumper, however he did not look that much bigger than last year
+ Hummel looked really good in the first half, but in the second he was too frantic and put up some ugly shots
Negatives
- Shabazz didn't look very good. He didn't look like he knew any of the sets, his defense was subpar, and he looked pretty negative towards the end of the game in terms of body language. It was kind of upsetting that he didn't get many touches towards the end of the game as he was open a few times. Something he did that surprised me was that he had a few really good looking passes that should have resulted in more than one assist.
- Dieng didn't have too big of a defensive presence

I thought Dieng was pretty good on D and he had 3 blocks.
