Re: CJ Mccolum
No question that McCollum wins the first round over Shabazz/Dieng. Nice game for CJ. But let this one play out. I still have to believe that the all-time leading freshman scorer from the Pac 12 plus a dominant shot blocker from the national champions will help the Wolves much more than an undersized SG from the Patriot League.

It really is comparing CJ to Shabazz/Dieng. No way Dieng would have been there at 26 for us on draft night if we hadn't traded with Utah

I have no idea who is coaching Summer league for minnesota, but we had what it looked like 50 guys play. I like the street ball feel of Vegas, but frankly...I could care less about anyone we didnt draft unless we have a serious notion they might be a D-League addition or 15th man possibility. Play the drafted guys...get them 35-40 minutes.
Re: CJ Mccolum
David Adelman is coaching the team. I thought the player rotation were weird, but you also don't know what guys looked like in practice for the last few days. Brown didn't even start. SL is a small step up from pickup ball. Its ugly Its also more interesting this year becasue there is a championship to win. If I was a coach in this I wouldn't give a crap about how you were seeded just figure out how you can win in your first 3 games before the tourney starts. Playing against the d-league select team is a tough first draw those guys have all been through this stuff before its a solid talent level team thats sort of a vet squad.

Re: CJ Mccolum
i dont think we really could think about drafting CJ, he is really small his standing reach is only 8'0,5'' which is just inch more than Luke Ridnour, he would end up as another backup PG, he just dont have physical attributes to play NBA SG actualy most of his parameters were worse than all other PGs in draft (with exception of Shane Larkin OFC)
on the other hand Bazz got some serious size, if he can play SG he could be dominant there, and as i said on espn.com he looks like coachable guy to me, which you can see right of the bat as he passes much more than he ever did

It's going to take a little more than one summer league game to proclaim that Bazz involves his teammates. C'mon people.

i am not claiming he is passer or anything, just saying he has much more sense for wolves than CJ, CJ is just nonsense pick for wolves

Re: CJ Mccolum
I agree that we need more evidence before we proclaim Shabazz the King of Passing, cool. but there are a couple things that I like. First, his passing in game one looked nothing like the guy we saw at UCLA where he never tried to work the ball inside. He easily could have had 3-4 assists. Secondly, he is saying all the right things. I just listened to yesterday's Zgoda interview, and Shabazz talked about all the proven scorers on this team and how his coaches expect him to feed them. It's early...only 5% of precincts reporting...but I like what I am hearing and seeing. Looking forward to today's game against a very experienced Suns team.
