Wittman vs Saunders Game Thread
I figured we needed a game thread even though the game is over.
Re: Wittman vs Saunders Game Thread
Thing I will take away from this game, is Shabazz is still playing good and maybe Thad is starting to get into a groove, hope he can build on todays performance, I am still high on Thad, he was playing good until his mom passed, and then he has played pretty bad, but I think he is better than what he has preformed this year.

Someone has got to sit Dieng's ass down and tell him two things: 1) Stop biting on pump fakes and just wall up near the hoop, and 2) When was the last time you actually drew a charge? Oh, you don't remember. Than stop trying!
Dieng would be so much better on the interior if he just stayed upright, with his arms straight up and feet on the ground rather than biting on pump fakes and trying to draw charges. Let your length do the work for you!

Better late than never. Well, wovles loss to a pretty good team. Wittman got one over flip tonight.
I love washington's offense where they have 2 excellent 3pt shooters on the baseline and wall up top. Really good floor spacing.
Wiggins had a subpar game. Couldnt get going and its one of those nights that I expect him to have this season. Its going to be an up and down season for wiggins but I fully expect more ups and consistency once we hit the halfway mark in the season.
We are really overmatched at the pf and c postions. Anytime we face at team with multiple good bigs, we are not likely to win. We are currently playing with only 1 guy above 6'8 and he is easily push around in the paint.

I live in the DC area and was excited to watch my first game this year (I'm glad I didn't go to the game). I only watched the first half and I'll echo what World said and add that Wall moved the ball well, nobody put any pressure on him and in one case Brewer was stuck in zone D and just let him sit out there at the line and pop an easy 3.
Their bigs are really good and Gortat was better than I thought. It was frustrating watching Wiggy stand around and then force bad shots, but, yes, an off night for him. Also equally frustrating is seeing AB getting only a few minutes again, maybe Flip just isn't that impressed with him. I haven't seen enough of him but I do hope he can become a legit starting PF.

Thad had a great game, especially the third quarter, and yet I see no mention of it. What gives?

Forgot about thad. He was having one of those unconsious 3rd period on offense where anything he throws up was going in. He was great on offense. Wish he made more of his fts though. If he didnt have the quarter he did in the 3rd, we might have been blown out much earlier.
I would like to bring attention to our horrendous fast break execution. It has simply been terrible without rubio. There where two instances that wiggins could have finish off a lob dunk on the break but the ball handler couldnt make that pass to him. Weve seen the team blow transition opportunities time and time again. Its been that bad.

He's not a building block for this team moving forward. Having a vet put up good stats in losses means nothing for this team besides being decent filler until it is replaced. Notice how the conversation on the board has shifted to a much more concentrated focus on all the young guys? It is because this year is lost and we are trying to figure out what we are going to have moving forward. Thad is no guarantee to come back and was always filler in the Love trade to give us a veteran presence until the young guys take over. I seriously doubt Flip brought him in to be the long-term solution at the 4. We can't keep Pek and Thad and be successful in the West for the same reasons we weren't successful with Pek and Love. Pek is borderline untradeable with the size of his deal that he has left so that leaves Thad as the odd man out because of his short-term deal.
