Good point. Also, I feel like Dieng could do more offensively than we've seen lately. It seems like he's only taking a handful of shots. Many times he makes (or tries to make) an extra pass when I feel like he probably should just take it himself.

Young would probably be better off trying to defend the Luis Scola's of the world instead of the David Wests. I think it would also free up Dieng to be a bit more aggressive around the basket (assuming he stops those stupid flops) since he has a more muscular wing-man at PF that can help clean up missed shots.

Ah - sorry I misunderstood. I agree that might be worth a try. Right now Dieng is sort of on an island in the middle without much help. We definitely miss size/toughness inside. I was hoping Bennett would be establishing himself at this point :-(. One issue with starting both Dieng & Adrien though is you lose some offense...so...it might end up being a push. But they need to start trying something because the defense is brutal.

A lineup of Dieng, Adrien, Muhammad, Wiggins and eventually Rubio?

It will look like a 6th grade chicks game before long with how much teams will simply sag and let the Wolves shoot. That lineup doesn't offer any spacing... which is HUGE in the NBA. Spacing is why a guy like Channing Frye gets $8M per year. And it's arguably a huge reason Atlanta is battling for the top of the East crown.

Abe, Good point on spacing, but what's the alternative? I would contest that Shabazz is a better floor spacer than Brewer was and Young stopped shooting 3's after his Mom died. He's just given up on that shot, so it's not like we have good floor spacing to begin with.

Once Martin gets back, we'll have better spacing, as Flip will probably put Shabazz back into his 6th man role.

"What's the alternative?"

Very telling sentence. Hell, that should be the Wolves mantra/PR slogan for the rest of the season.
