CoolBreeze's 2 Things I Didn't Like Tonight Plus 1

Post by Coolbreeze44 »

You already know what the two things I didn't like, so lets talk about the positives:

- Bazz is a horse, pure and simple. Don't see how he can fail at this point. He's a scorer and it's hard to find guys like that.

- Andrew gave me goose bumps a couple times. It's funny, he can be so passive for stretches, but then he shows great aggressiveness on some plays. I think he needs to believe in himself a little more. I certainly do.

- I think we're a better team with Zach in the game. Mo had some nice shooting, but I would have much rather seen Zach be on the floor at the end.

- I agree with the Peterson on this: Gorgui will be better once we get healthy. And I think he has been pretty good as it is.

- Still enjoy these games because of the promise this roster holds. I'm not nearly as down on this team as you might think.

Agree with all that especially about Gorgui. Rubio will make a big difference for him, but he needs to not have Thad next to him too.

Actually, Thad may benefit as much as anyone from Rubio's return.

26 assists out of the 38 made buckets is pretty solid. I couldn't watch the game because I was at a concert but that seems to be a standout on the box score along with Bazz and Wiggins dropping 30 and 21 a piece. Only 10 total turnovers is a pretty good stat as well. Sounds like they just couldn't clutch up down the stretch.

Just watched the replay, and I share your optimism about this club, cool. And this season is a washout, so the late-game collapse puts us another step closer to Karl Towns.

Shabazz was terrific. It wasn't too long ago that some were saying he only had one way to score the basketball, but I don't know that he went to his patented little left hook for any of his 30 points tonight...unless I missed one. He was an upper 30% 3-point shooter in college, so tonight was hardly a fluke...let his shoot, Flip.

I also got goosebumps a couple times with Wiggins tonight. And although I've been down on AB recently, I was impressed with his defense tonight. Good communicator, quick feet and long arms...good things to have on defense.

Muhammad is showing that he can score. If he can continue to expand his range and hit three pointers... not bad. Granted, guys like McCants and Beasley could score too. But, the positive thing is that Muhammad seems to play with another gear than those guys did.

Wiggins looks so effortless on some of his plays. So fluid and smooth. Add a bit more tenacity and... pretty damn good. That makes 3 out of 4 20+ point nights from the kid. Let's see if he can maintain something close to that kind of consistency as the season progresses.

Still very "meh" on Lavine. But he's so damn raw and in a tough spot playing PG when that's not really his calling. But I wish he'd attack more. Instead he seems to just shoot tough shots over people. He's so athletic that sometimes they go in... but it's just not sustainable/efficient. We'll see if he remains one of those guys who "settles" or "attacks" once he's in a more favorable role.

It was cool to see the Wolves catch fire from the field for a stretch there in the second half. But, all in all, it wasn't great basketball. Or, even good basketball. Heck, it was two mediocre to poor teams out there. But, it was still entertaining enough.
