Nate Wolters?

Post by Volans19 »

Wolter's was waived by the Bucks today to sign Kenyon Martin. I'm not sure he'll be claimed, the Sixers are a strong possibility and maybe a team like the Lakers could take a flyer on him.

But if he clears waivers should we make a move to go sign him? He might be a least a little marketable being that he's from around here and PG depth has been a problem (albeit not as big a problem as Center) and with Mo getting dinged up last night we could be hurting even worse.

I'm not a huge fan of Wolters but I think he plays smart and can help move the ball more efficiently. Anyone else kind of interested or should we just sign Pek 2.0 and move on?

He's an intriguing player that had a pretty decent rookie season, then fell off the map this year with Milwaukee. One thing we need to keep in mind is that we need a backup PG next season. He seems like a competent, and cheap, option, plus I think he still has some upside. Just not sure how we could get him on board given our current roster constraints.

Damn, we have too many wings. It makes it hard to accommodate these high value/low cost players like Adrien and Wolters.

Yes please. We need to do something to address our roster imbalance. We have a dearth of rotation level bigs and healthy point guards and a relative glut of wing players. I'd like to pick up Wolters off waivers. He can actually play point at replacement level and is signed to a nice cheap deal through next year. As a bonus he's a local boy and was a plus player even as a rookie last year. I heard that at this point waiving GR3 costs 40k, and we could have walters for the next several years at about 1m per year. At that price there's really no excuse for the ridiculous roster imbalance we've been rolling with.

Wolters would be our starter right now. I like him, but I don't know how we could get him. We needed size, but we could use Wolters for this year and next.

I'd get rid of Budinger, play Robinson more and sign Wolters. That's my opinion.

If Wolters would be acquired I'd see no room for Williams. It would give us 4 PGs on the depth chart including Lavine as a combo guard (last PG off the bench). And then unload Bud for a PF or buy him out and resign Adrien.

I don't think he is a good fit. Not a 3pt shooter or defender.

This team needs to stops worrying about 10 - 15 spots on this roster and start worring about 1 - 8.

At least we have the 9th spot taken care of.
