Yes, I would be very interested in monroe. I was interested back in the off season and am now. If there is any way we can move pek for him in a 3 team trade then we should do it(realistic chances are slim though).

He would give us what pek gives us but he will be a lot more durable. About 16-10 will be what he can bring. We need rebounding badly and that is one area he is above average at.

Im a big thad young guy but Im very disappointed in his rebounding. I know it wasn't a strength of his but its a lot worse than I expected. At this point, i will be willing to move him for monroe straight up if possible. Not hating on young as I like a lot him still. But If its an option then I will be open to it.

I also think he's a C more than a PF so I don't see the fit next to Dieng, but that's not the worst thing in the world. Dieng would fall back into his bench role which is probably best until he can learn to defend his man in the post better. The question is who would they want from us to get him. Would they take Bazz and filler for him? I'd rank the trade order from least wanting to trade to more willing to trade at Wiggins/Ricky/Dieng/Lavine/Bennett/Bazz and everyone else. To be honest we'd probably just be better off trying to sign him away from them in the offseason than giving away a piece now unless that piece is not someone in the long-term plans.

We wouldn't even get his Bird Rights since he signed a QO. If Thad/Brew/Bud picked up their options, it would be impossible for us to re-sign him.

If we can get Monroe without breaking up our core of talented youth hell yes. Our bigs are pathetic right now.

Not having his bird rights means we need the cap space. Not sure we can make that happen. I wonder it would take to get 76ers to take on some of our bad contracts.

I don't' think signing the QO has any affect on his bird rights. He has been on the same team that drafted him, and would come to us on a trade so they should still be intact.

More discussion on this. I would love to have him on this team, but it is a long shot. We really need his size. I would give up AB for him if we could resign him and I really like AB. Just don't think Brewer would be enough for them.

It does. The Pistons will still have his Bird Rights, but if he is traded during the season that he is playing out his QO, the Bird Rights do not transfer. He would be a non-Bird unrestricted free agent. I wasn't completely thorough earlier, as we could resign him for up to 120% of his previous salary using the non-Bird exception. However, that's only $6.6mil. There's no way he would sign for that.
