Bennett has a 105/111 offensive and defensive rating and Young is a 97/112. Worse in both categories.
The numbers are what they are, but my eye test tells me that AB is a much better defender than Thad, especially if you include defensive rebounds in the equation. I think his rating is penalized by having to guard bigger centers the past couple weeks when Gorgui needs a rest.

Not just you. He comes off pin downs and then proceeds to miss the jumper (at least lately). His shot has been off for a couple of weeks now.
I agree with SJ that they are starting to force things to him. Flip needs to get in his face and tell him to go find other ways to score, we're aren't running plays for you. Outrun people down the court, get an offensive rebound, make a hard basket-cut. He needs to start "doing shit" instead of being spoon-fed shots, none of which are going in.

Yep, time for him make things happen without being set up. He had a couple almosts again last night. I want to see those opportunities completed.

Wiggins could learn a lot from Muhammad on that. Bazz just finds ways to put the ball in the hole.
I don't think they should change the plan too much with Wiggins. He was hitting shots earlier in the year that he's not hitting now. Probably his eventual FG% is going to end up between them. But bottom line is he needs to learn what to do and what not to do offensively, same as before. He should take fewer contested shots and low percentage shots and he should attack the basket and try to draw the foul more. That's the same now as earlier in the year.
I do think though that the team needs to work a little more with him on the defensive end. He's got the tools to be great, and has shown flashes, and that's where we really need him to shine. I think tweaking some things there and giving him some of his positive plays to watch during video sessions on the defensive end would pay the most immediate dividends in terms of his development. He's not as good an offensive player yet. So to keep the kid's confidence up, keep focusing on what he can do really well.
Drew, I think our defense as a whole is such a mess, I don't know where they would start with him. They have got to go back to playing man D.
I do agree with letting him figure things out. I was speaking more about continually harping on him to be more aggressive and attack the basket. Teams are already doubling on him even when Leonard was guarding him the first time we faced the Spurs, they were swinging a big over into the paint to help. When that happens, he has to move the ball, and I think the constant harping is causing him to make bad decisions. I just think they have to let AW develop that portion of his game at his own pace. Improving his handle is something that he needs to work on in the off season. If he can hone his pull up jumper right now, and play solid D, I think that is plenty for his rookie year.

What are the odds of him taking over?
I really would like to see Bazz starting for us. He has been the best player on this team the last 5-10 games. It is time to start him ahead of Brewer. It would be beneficial to the team long-term to have them play together this year.
