Fair enough. 2 simple things for now.

1.Not criticizing KG on his way out. It is business, it is not personal. Glen as a supposed adept businessman should have known better. KG simply did more for this franchise than anyone and regardless of feelings should have been treated with class even if KG was acting foolish at the time.

2. Hiring a top-notch GM after McHale. McHale had become a debacle by the end of his tenure, to follow it up with someone who was not reputable and with no experience in the NBA was high risk. And we were at a point in our franchise where we could not afford those kind of risks. To paint the Kahn hiring as anything other than a tactic to save money at this point is laughable.

The basic point is we can't afford any mistakes in the market we play in. Maybe our results wouldn't have been different but the external perceptions of our franchise would, which matters on so many levels in this business. Right now Taylor has to be viewed as a cheapskate by most of the players who had a hand in the last round of negotiations (since Taylor spearheaded the hardline owners' position in the last CBA). He has likely added a rep of ripping stars when the leave his team. How are we going to be an attractive destination for stars when Taylor has been a major factor in our only two stars to date leaving?

How about actually making an effort to find the right guys? Khan was hired because he was recommended by Stern. How fucked up is that? The process in getting Flip was about as lazy as you can be. Hell most of the positive things that have happened to this franchise could be explained by luck and not some culture that Glen has brought

Seems like it was about three things, making them competitive (which he did, at least for a little while). Remodeling the Target Center, which has been approved, and getting the team a better revenue deal from the league which he also accomplished. I don't see anything in the article that comes across as negative. Taylor admits that Kahn and Rambis clashed, and that Adelman did make a list (as I have stated in the past :o) of players he wanted gone. Robson states that there are risks in the plan, but never states anything that suggests it was just about money. The reading between the lines is your own view Doper.

The most important thing in the whole article is that Taylor's #1 priority was keeping the wolves in Minny.

I never denied that it was my view. :) Of the three things I think you have to admit making us competitive was never really accomplished. Taylor has done positive things as an owner but in my view they have been in his self interest primarily. Notice I haven't even mentioned his penchant for meddling and his classes criticism of players when they leave. Flip has potentially given us some real talent to build a future with, but you can't tell me straight faced that you don't believe there is a good chance that Glen's meddling could not derail the rebuild.

I thought we were competitive last season, Rubio's rookie year till he went down, and this season until he went down.

I am not going to argue your point on Glen's criticisms of out going players. It is somewhat classless, although Love did force his way out without giving Flip a chance to build around him which was pretty classless in its own right. If Love told Flip his intentions a year earlier, maybe we don't give Pek the contract we did, or re-sign Bud.

I don't think Glen really has a lot to do with day to day operations, and I also think he has taken the wrap for things that our GM's did. I don't think he will derail anything, unless Flip puts it in his lap.

Flip looks damn smart after that Knicks game especially with Dieng and Bazz playing well.

He is creative no doubt. If we can draft one more talented big he is going to have some horses moving forward.

Great game last night, but let's not go crazy. The Knicks may be the second worst team in the league right now sitting right above Philly. Dieng got his but handed to him by Amare last night as well.
