Matching up against New Orleans
I will be at the game tonight, so will post my thoughts after. With the Pelicans starting Davis and Asik, what do you all think about Going with Pek and Dieng as our frontcourt? Davis is so good, he will be better than anyone we match up against him, but I worry that Young would just get dominated by Davis' length, and Dieng could at least match him length wise.
Re: Matching up against New Orleans
You have to go with Young. Davis is way to quick for Dieng. It will also be fun to watch Bennett try to guard him. Really looking forward to this game.

We will not be putting Young on Davis tonight... On a serious note, prayers go out to Young and his family as his mother has passed away (it's on the twitterverse).
Hopefully Bennett's knee is feeling fine. Turiaf actually got a minute or two at PF against Houston. The Wolves do have some solid depth, but it is being tested early.

If Young's family situation wasn't what it is right now, I'd still go Young. Davis scores in the P&R and in the Garnett area of the floor (18-20 feet). That's a fine matchup for Thad.
That isn't the case now, though. I'd start Dieng, but I could see Flip starting Hummel. The bad thing about starting Dieng would be that Turiaf has to man big bench minutes, which is fine, but can his body handle that.

Yes, tonight would seem like a good time to experiment with some bigger combinations out there, especially if Thad is out.

To bad about Thad's mom. It will be interesting to see what Flip does at PF. Last night I watched the first quarter of the Cavs vs Pelicans and it was some ugly basketball but yeah AD is a tough matchup for just about anyone. I won't be shocked if Dieng gets a shot at defending AD but I don't know about him starting. I don't know if Bennett is an option with that knee. It will be interesting to watch Wiggins D up in this game.

I don't know much about Thad's mom, but based on what a fine human being he is, I suspect she was a gem. His parents never married, but he says she was the one who kept him on the straight and narrow. Sad news...she couldn't have been very old.
I don't expect Thad to play until we return home. Gotta hope AB's knee allows him to defend Davis tonight. We're going to see a lot of Robbie the next two games too. I don't sense that Flip is comfortable with Gorgui at PF, so I don't think we will see that unless AB is limited.

Good thing Turiaf is back. I wonder if Flip would do something really crazy and put Wiggins or another wing player on Davis. From what I've seen the last couple of games Robbie is gonna get a lot of burn tonight and I feel weird saying this but may be the best option defensively on AD. If Bennett was healthy like he was early on I'd say him. I wonder if any of our Euro guys help this problem of length at PF next year.

I think AD will shoot right over Robbie.

None our wing players would have a prayer at guarding Davis in the post.
