Late report due to me going to Dumb & Dumber to last night. Had to finish watching the game late. So here's my thoughts:
1) Haven't read anybody mention team defense. To have the kind of shooting night the Pelicans had you must be getting a lot of open looks. The scheme wasn't good, the effort wasn't good, and the execution wasn't good. Martin is almost worthless on the defensive end of the floor. And our inside D was just as bad. These guys may have rough nights like this occasionally, but Flip has to make sure they bring the proper compete level every night.
2) Once again the three point differential. It's just too significant to ignore. It forces us to be so much more efficient in other facets of the game, and with our inexperience that isn't going to happen very often. Need to defend it better, and we need to make more. It's that simple.
Plus 1 - That 3rd quarter by Wiggins was special. Knocking down shots, getting a dunk, and getting to the line and hitting his throws. No matter how bad the team will look at times this year, it seems we can always see glimpses of a positive future. And Andrew getting his first of about 1000 20 point games was nice to see.
And that's CoolBreeze's 2 things I didn't like tonight Plus 1

Our interior D has been atrocious for the majority of hte games. I could actual get around it, if we weren't paying out over 20 mil to our starters. Pek has got to be WAY more physical. He had 1 foul last night, and he was standing still with his arms above his head (read, should have been offensive). Pek averages 2 fouls a game. There is no reason not to be handing out a couple of hard fouls if for no other reason, to set a tone for the refs and the opponents.
Wiggins is starting to look like a can't miss star.
More importantly, how was the movie?

For those lamenting the huge difference in threes between the Wolves and our opponents, I'll mention one stat from last night:
Brady Heslip scored 40 points in 24 minutes in his D-League debut last night...made 11 3-pointers.

The movie didn't measure up to the first one, but it was good and worth the money. I was a little disappointed because I had heard it was every bit as good as the first, but I didn't see it that way. Of course it's pretty tough to match what I consider to be one of the best comedies of all time. I didn't think Daniels was as good. Too many years has aged him a little much.

Yes, our defense has been horrific. We actually weren't completely awful last night offensively - got to the line a ton. But our defense was atrocious (and the Pelicans were pretty lucky too).
I love Brewer's energy, but the stuff we often miss are when his gambles go awry and his man is left open for a wide open 3. Happens too often.

Side note: You all need to see The Equalizer.
