Ha, I didn't see him make the gesture, but I have to admit...I'm kind of glad he did. It seems sort of out of character for Martin, and maybe this is another indication that he wants to take a leadership role on this young team rather than being the background guy he was last year. Just the fact that he wanted to take two big crunch time shots is a big difference, and even better that he made them. The celebration is a little childish, but if it is a sign of Martin wanting to step up, I'm all for it :thumb: .

Yeah, it would have been more meaningful if we had won, but maybe he can deliver a few game winners in the future.

Sam's version was pretty funny - ha! I realize that the gesture might be offensive to some people. But come on! It was a BIG, BIG shot. He was fired up and he fired up the whole team. (Maybe too much so for Wiggins - ha!)

The fine is nuts to me (no pun intended). Big friggin deal. The people that are offended by the gesture probably had no idea what he was doing until somebody explained it to them. And then once they knew it was like "Oh my God - what about the children!"

The League would be much better served by fining pathetic officials (1) for missing obvious travels in crucial parts of games, (2) for calling a 6th foul on a key player when the player simple goes for the ball without causing contact any more than the opposing players competing for the ball, and (3) for allowing one team to persistently bang the opposing team's PG with impunity. NBA officiating has a serious competency or integrity issue (not sure which) that is long overdue to be addressed. In that context, fining Martin for his Sam-like antics was ridiculous.

The most interesting thing I found out about the big balls dance today is that is how Sam hurt his hip in game 7 against Sacramento and could not play in the WC Finals against the Lakers. I did not know that was how Sam hurt himself, but that is what Flip said today.
