Idk I have questions about roth Bledsoe and Rubio. Is Bledsoe a PG or is he a combo shooting guard that can play PG? Will Ricky step up his game playing for a coach that does well with young PGs? Idk I suspect a lot of questions will be answered in a few months. I guess I hope LaVine becomes sort of the type of impact player Bledsoe brings and Rubio is the passing PG for some bigtime scorers.

Doubtful. A couple things to keep in mind,

That 43 million dollar deal will be there at any point, even if he somehow missed the whole season, so it makes no sense to take it now.

With Love out the door, Ricky has all the leverage in the world. He's the star, he's the guy who Khan wanted to give the max too.

With the Wolves in rebuilding mode, there's no reason why Ricky should take a discount or even a reasonable deal.

The Wolves have shown they don't really play hardball. Pek got a massive deal without any other suitors. Dounbt they would start now with Ricky.

Actually the fact that the wolves are in a partial rebuild is exactly why he has limited leverage, and why the wolves can play hardball. They aren't expected to win in the near future.

Getting guaranteed money, and not taking a chance on getting injured is why he would take the deal now.

I agree with your take. If he won't accept that deal let him lay out his deal. I still think LaVine might be more PG then SG and if he excels Rubio has no leverage at all. He has serious limitations that make him have limited suitors.

4 years for 43 million is going to be dirt cheap once the next tv deal and CBA gets done. Rubio should fire his agent if he even relayed that number to him.

They aren't getting him for under 12-13 million a year. Any number around that paired with a cap north of 65 million would result in Ricky getting a similar % if the cap as Curry's low ball deal.

I think he ceiling is 4yr/48M. That is whay Ty Lawson and Kyle Lowry got. I am sure that is what is holding up Beldsoe at the moment. I think the number of good PG's in the league hurts there value a bit.

Ricky is not getting a max deal if he doesn't post more than 15 PPG. End of story. I don't care what other numbers he puts up. You should not be a max player if you can't score more than 15 PPG. 4/43 is right in the ball park with every other PG on and around his level. If he truly wanted to win, he'd take the discount and let us try to bring in a big name at or around the max. Curry's deal only became a discount when he stayed healthy. If his ankles would have kept on the path they were on, he would have been a bad contract like Eric Gordon turned into in NO. I seriously doubt if he puts up 12/8.5/4/2.5 that someone would give him the max. Especially when Bledsoe will also be on the market without worrying about matching issues dropping 18/6/5/1.5. You have to be able to put the ball in the bucket in this league to get paid well and that is the one thing Ricky can't do and is why I see a very small chance he gets offered the max by anyone. Also factor in that he plays the deepest position in the league and teams aren't going to max a guy who truly isn't worth it when there is so much quality depth available that can give you 80+% of the production for significantly less money overall.
