Terrible take by Henry. Burke actually surprised me last year and played better than I thought he would, but he didn't score efficiently hitting only 38% of his shots. Having both Muhammad and Dieng is so much better than having only Burke. Utah gave him a chance last year, but I'm convinced that if Adelman had been as gracious with our rookies, they would have each put up much better numbers than Burke.
A couple thoughts: First of all, who is Henry Lake? Secondly, let's not already start to write Rubio's ticket out of here. And third, I would choke on my own bile if we traded Rubio for Rondo.
Lake is a lesser personality on one of the Twin Cities' sports radio stations, cool. He fashions himself as somewhat of a basketball expert, but I think he's generally wrong...like here.
I share your feelings about Rubio/Rondo. I think Rondo has seen his best years, and Rubio still has considerable upside. Ricky is five years younger than Rondo, and I'm convinced he will be performing at a higher level than Rondo in five years. Ricky already shoots threes and free throws better, and their career assist and turnover numbers are almost identical. Ricky is more disruptive on defense and has much better size. The one area where Rondo has a big advantage is in 2-point shooting, as he is a far superior finisher around the basket. But I think Rubio will improve greatly in this area as he gets more NBA experience...let's not forget he really only has the equivalent of 2 seasons under his belt. I'm not trading Rubio for Rondo.

Rubio has been a professional basketball player since he was 16. The fact that he has such big holes in his game this many years into his professional career is not a good sign for future development. The experience argument just doesn't work for me considering how long he's actually been a pro. I wouldn't take Rondo now that Love is gone, but Ricky has had enough time as a full-time professional basketball player where what you see is pretty much what you are going to get. Is it not worrisome to people that he is just now commiting time to developing a jump shot when he is almost a decade into his pro career especially considering his lack of playing time in Spain was directly correlated to his crappy shooting. This is a big year for Ricky and I hope he shows up with an actual jump shot instead of his awful set shot he's been showing the last few years.

Why anyone thinks Burke is anything to cry over is beyond me. He is the PG that shot worse than Rubio. Oh sure he was a Rookie and 2 years younger than Rubio but Burke is a scoring PG and he sucked at doing that. Those shooting percentages are brutal. I thought Burke was overrated going into that draft and I still don't know what his rookie year makes anyone too excited. Exum next to him or just taking his spot makes sense.
I'd rather just max on Rubio than trade him for Rondo. I like Rondo, but there are some problems there.

I have always thought Rondo was overrated. Looking at his career stats, you see a huge jump right when KG and Allen joined the Celtics, and then after their prime years his numbers started to fall off. Like Ricky, he is a good passer, and rebounder and a very good defender. He is a better finisher at the rim, but a much worse shooter from distance and the FT line. By all accounts Ricky is also a likeable teammate which has never been the case with Rondo. Based on age and contract, I think Ricky should have significantly more value right now.

Interesting. Let's just assume we have to max a point guard to get who Flip wants. Is it Ricky? Bledoe? Wont be Klay, they will match whatever we through at him
