And then what was really bizarre was Flip subbing in Martin for Brewer to defend Butler!

I've bought in to Flip the GM. Flip the Coach, not so sure

Good win. I have detroit ranked below us so its a game we should win.

Pek woke up in the 2nd half after a horrible first half and got a double double.

Thad is a solid player, wish that he would have rebound the ball better but he has been very good the last 2 games.

. Rubio's shot continues to look better. He had a nice all around game and he had only has 1 to tonight( an unforced one in crunch time though).

Wiggins teases but still dont look confortable yet. Still waiteing for his first throwdown dunk.

Lavine got some burn but didnt do anything while in there.

Quiet night for bazz and AB.

Martin did okay. He should be starting though with him and brewer switching places.

Mo has been the mvp so far. A true vet that knows how to play, score and win.

The thing is, it kinda worked! Perhaps he's crazy like a fox. May be it was his way of giving Martin a vote of confidence for showing effort in practice (after all, he did get hurt on a close out drill, meaning he had to have actually closed out to have gotten hurt!). I hope someone from the press asks Flip about that substitution.

Flip is unorthodox Martin on Butler, and fouling under a minute in a 5 pt game

It was hack-a-drummond. And it almost backfired as we saw why Thad is not a great rebounder -- letting Butler rebound a missed FT?!? That was Bad Thad!

Thad Young continues to play well. Go figure. At some point it could be said that he's a good basketball player. Not average, not underwhelming, but good. The play of the game was Thad burying a three pointer to match Butler (ridiculous second half) and keep the lead at 5.

Mo's reminding me of Sam Cassell back in the early 2000s. High praise, but he's so good at making that mid-range jumper and finding ways to create for himself. Also has ice in his veins. Second biggest play of the game was Mo pump-faking at the arc, leaving his defender in the air on the close out, taking a dribble in and cashing a 16-footer to extend the lead late. Big time shot.

Ricky's on his way. I'm becoming more of a believer every game and I hope we get him extended before 11 PM tomorrow night (the deadline). I don't remember his exact line, but it was something like 11 pts, 8 ast and 7 rebs. Guess what guys? That's big time production. Jumper continues to look better and he's clearly more confident in his ability to score.

PS: I really enjoyed the leadership displayed tonight by Thad, Mo and Kevin. Picking up guys spirits. Making big shots down the stretch (talked about Thad's and Mo's, but Kev had a huge three late that came on a broken play).

I'm a believer. I think we have a strong chance to exceed 40 wins this year. The main reason I say that: our bench. Our second unit is as good as you'll find in the NBA, imo. Yes, I'm sipping the Kool-Aid. That's especially if Flip keeps Martin off the bench. Williams-Martin-Muhammad-Bennett-Dieng. Lot of firepower. Gorgui's the best backup center in the league already too.

I'm happy we pulled out the W and I think we'll continue to get better. Here's to a close game against Chicago this weekend. We catch them on the back half of a B2B; right after they go all out against Cleveland.

Think I almost caught a veiled compliment towards Bennet in there. Lol

We're sending out the bat signal to Tim to start a GDT, since he started the thread for the winning Detroit game...yes, I am a little superstitious. I made up a lame excuse to get out of a party just to stay home to watch the game. I don't miss that much about Los Angeles, but the 5PM Saturday starts still left some time to enjoy the evening after the game was over...no longer now that I am back in good 'ol Central time.

Tim get us another win...and an anti-Klunker at that!
