Its a shame that the truth wont be getting the headlines that the initial accusations received. I feel bad for Dante and hope he catches on somewhere or wished there was room here for him. He was probably a long shot to return here even if this incident hadnt happened. If there is a long term injury to the frontcourt, he should be at the top of Flips list, however.

Just got done with it. Couple thoughts I had were that even though it sounds like she may have set him up on the text messages, there is no way to know for sure. The fact that they dropped charges doesn't mean he was innocent, and it does sound odd that she would make the whole thing up without him doing something. The guy adopted her children (a little too soon IMO), so I don't see why you would blow things up over an argument. It isn't impossible that she could have choked herself and bounced her head off the wall. Why do they have a lock on the bedroom door that you would need to kick in?

I sure would like to know who was going to pay DC over 4 mil/yr though???

Bad timing.

Because Jason Kidd beat up his wife several years ago instead of last month... he keeps moving up the coaching ladder.

No way to really know what happened through a news story, but this does make you think twice. Still, as SJM pointed out, his claim that he kicked the door in a week earlier because he locked himself out sounds really fishy. What did he need to get so bad that he kicked in a door? If the police decided the woman was lying about the Skype threats so they dropped the charges, that definitely makes her look suspicious, but like SJM suggests, it doesn't mean Dante didn't actually do those things that night. But in a court case, it would be easy to defend Dante because his accuser could be shown to be deceptive to the police. Raise a reasonable doubt, get him off. Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. There is no video of him knocking somebody out, or pictures of a bruised and bloodied kid. Hopefully athletes and people in general take note of domestic violence as an issue since it's been in the news lately and do what they can to stop it.

I'm not losing sleep over this but IF he is as innocent as he says man that sucks for him but yeah all of use are wanting to know who the team is that was willing to give Dante 4 million a year. Call that team NOW and Fleece them in some trades!!! Dante is a solid player a legit guy worth being on a roster but its not like he was gonna get that kind of money.

SJM has been skeptical of this the whole time and I think some of these details do make me even more likely to believe Dante but there is no way to be sure. Maybe he should go overseas for a year and build his resume. In a year this issue will not be as big of a deal.

I REALLY hope he gets back in the league he deserves it, I also feel bad because I, like many others everywhere labeled him guilty when I first heard about it

I've wondered the same thing its a good question. I think it went a bit under the radar I hadn't heard about it till I heard Jim Rome joking about it numerous times. Without looking back it seemed to happen also before all this other stuff blew up.
