I haven't said much on this topic because, quite frankly, the 15th spot on the roster should never get this much attention. But it would be crazy to keep some of these guys at the expense of RG3. We don't need Hummel, we don't need Barea, we should be able to trade Bud if necessary. To me it makes no sense to get rid of a guy with the potential of RG3.

I could absolutely see the 76ers picking up GR3, he's probably better then shved right now

I would say Wiggins has to go, he's missed 3 games and will be a perpetual injury concern every night :-d

SJM if you want to sell me on GR3 having more potential than Hummel that's easy but saying GR3 is better at everything right now than Hummel that likely isn't true but at the very least there isn't enough evidence to say GR3 is good at anything in the NBA.

Will GR3 (RG3??? Lol) get picked up by another team? That's the fear. The thing is that there are gonna be a lot of guys being cut and there may be some intruiging talent out there. Britt Robson tweeted about a couple Rockets guys on the bubble he would be interested in and so I was reading about their roster situation and they have a camp body C that seems to have played his way onto the team. Now what are they gonna do? Other teams may have some young talent they have to let go for cuts much less add GR3. Sixers picked up Lorezo Brown last year for a while.

As its been said already Hummel will get an offer from Europe for more money so I don't thoink he would go to the D-league. GR3 and his agent probably feel an NBA team values him enough to pick him up so that's probably not on the table for them to help the Wolves keep his rights.

Since RG3 was brought up should I hold onto RG3 in my fantasy team when he is healthy? Lol no serious what do you think?

All we know right now is Heslip is gone. :)

If we still had Love on this team then a guy like GR3 would be the first to go because Robbie and JJ are more reliable right now to plug into games and know what you are getting. The problem is that Love was just replaced by the last two number 1 picks in the draft taking with him most likely our shot at the playoffs this year (always have to leave room for the 1% possibility). With that in mind Flip would be crazy to not keep GR3 on a rebuilding team over 2 guys who have much lower ceilings and who aren't long-term pieces. This is when I wish we had a competent owner who could tell Flip to cool it on the trying to win games strategy and actually put the GM hat on to look towards the future. If GR3 gets cut it will just be another sign to me that we can't afford to have Flip do both jobs because he is going to put the coach before the GM and that is how we got into the contract situation we have now with Martin, Corey and Bud. He brought in those guys in a win at all costs mode and not only did we not win, but it put the nail in the coffin of a HOF coach hanging up his boots, our superstar to want to leave town because he could see our lack of a promising future and a bunch of vets who fit around a superstar better than around a bunch of young guys looking to them for leadership. Flip has done a good job so far, but he has been treading the line pretty closely to trying to make his life as a coach easier at the expense of the long-term outlook of the franchise. Also, I don't see how GR3 wouldn't get picked up by any of the teams who drafted after us in the second round who couldn't get him and weren't going to drop a late first on him. With his athleticism, basketball IQ and pedigree he has several years of journey-manning to go before teams will stop taking flyers on him to see if he can be a rotation player.

We all may have missed this one, according to Wolfson. In another tweet, he says that JJ is cut and picked up by Dallas. They aren't interested enough to give us anything, but an outright release solves our roster issue and makes the GR3 people happy. JJ played great on offense during the preseason, but I think Flip knows he can't guard anyone. Many of us, including me, watched JJ win the game against Chicago and concluded that he had earned a spot. But actually Flip was showing us something else. By letting Zach play the final 6 minutes of a tight game and having him defend their best offensive player (Rose), he was telling us that he didn't trust JJ on defense.. This is the best move long-term, so it looks like Flip the GM might have won the argument with Flip the coach.

Also, in this tweet is Wolfson's belief that a Rubio deal gets done by Friday. I think he is on the cusp of taking a giant step forward, so I see this as very good news.

Well, it's tough to be too upset seeing JJ go, as this seems pretty plausible to me. On the other hand, wow, does that leave us pretty darn thin. Who the heck plays PG if Mo or Rubio get hurt? LaVine does not look ready yet.

Nice to see Glen opening his wallet. JJ and his chucking ways would probably drive Flip nuts, meanwhile Hummel plays within his strengths and within the system. It's nice to see us finally try and develop young players, GR3 will probably see very little court time this year but maybe we can develop him in the D-League earn his loyalty and maybe see him play next year.

As I said, it made no sense to get rid of RG3. And I'm perfectly fine with Lavine as the #3 PG. He has to learn, and that's what this year is for. We aren't winning the title anyway.
