Love right now is a better at everything then Bosh every was besides defense and I think it's a lot closer then people think. Love is also just getting into his prime and clearly can still grow

So Love is better at one half of the game, and Bosh the other.
Is anyone on here questioning Loves' skillset? I haven't heard that at all. I know I am questioning how he will adjust to not being the man, and also wonder how far down the totem pole he will fall. It isn't a question of who is the better player as much as who has the ball and create their own shot. Lebron, Kyrie, and to some extent Dion, can all make that happen and are all much more likely to have the ball in their hands.
Winning will help soften the blow, but from what I have seen of Love (and his character), I have to question whether the reduced role will satisfy his ego.

He didn't seem to have much of a problem being a key role player for the Gold Medal team. And he will most certainly be featured more with the Cavs than he did with Team USA.

I think that was easier to accept due to being one of the younger guys at the time, and knowing that all of those players were all star type guys, as well as it being for a much shorter period of time. Being on the Olympic team is an honor regardless of your stats, but the NBA is where you make a name for yourself.

I'll say it again Bosh when he went to Miami wasn't known as a defensive player either. Some of that is offset by Love being clearly a far and away better rebounder than Bosh. Love wasn't a bigtime post up or iso man as a Timberwolf although last year the offense ran through him more obviously since he racked up the assists. There will be a transition period but Love is gonna be just fine. Love really has never been a selfish player offensively. He will score 20ppg this year for the Cavs and his FG% will be the highest in his career by a healthy margin. Bosh averaged 18ppg in his first 2 years in Miami and he isn't as a diverse scorer as Love. Bosh averaged around 8rpg over those 4 years with the Heat. Love will get nearly that many in the 1st half playing for the Cavs.
I get it there are justifiable sour grapes here on Love but people forget this guy just finished up a season with legit promise and finished with 40 wins. Doesn't anyone think Love is gonna be pretty thrilled playing with some real stud basketball player and key vets winning games nearly every night? You bet he will. That's gonna cure a lot of problems winning.
I didn't like Love's whiny attitude. But in my view he is the best PF in the League and I am certain he will fit well with LeBron and the rest of the cast in Cleveland.

It isn't sour grapes on my part. I just know what Love's strengths and weaknesses are. Love isn't as hamstrung on defense by athleticism as a lot of people suggest. If you look back at his combine numbers you will see that they were very similar to Blake Griffin's. Love never truly gave his all while with the wolves. If he really wanted to make the PO's, he would have competed harder on the defensive end. I found it hypocritical when Love called out JJ and DC, even though I agreed with the comments and was not a fan of either player. I am sure most players saw it the same way. Your SS player has to be the one setting the example, and that just didn't happen with Love. Guys like Lebron, TD, KG compete on both ends of the floor.
Love has all the talent needed, but I question (just like I did a couple years ago) whether he can overcome his ego.

Good post. Its been a while but I would be certain that knowledgeable Raps fans said very similar things about Bosh based on some of the things I read over there BEFORE Bosh left. Just sayin. I think people forget what Bosh was and wasn't before he went to Miami.
It's really tough to go 100% on defense 100% of the time when you are the offensive go-to player and leading rebounder. Even LeBron has admitted to coasting at times on defense. That's why some teams have had defensive specialists over the years, like Thabo, Bowen, Ty Chandler, etc. It's just really hard to be elite going both ways. Jordan did it. Kobe did it in his prime. LeBron can do it. Duncan and KG (although KG was not as good as Love offensively). I bet Love plays the best defense of his career this season simply because he isn't expected to carry so much of the load offensively.
