I actually think the Vikings have had a lot of success. The Wild are on track. The Wolves and Twins have a pretty bad overall track record.

I basically stopped reading this which is nothing more than a sad fan rant and this quote clinched it for me.

"Taylor finally fired McHale and hired David Kahn, somehow replacing the worst general manager in the NBA with an even worse one."

You mean the guy that engineered one of the biggest draft day heists ever in the league getting Love for Mayo who is just a talented bench player? Heck teams are STILL falling over themselves to get Mike Miller and he is like 55. Oh and he got cap space and dumped Jaric too. I'm not saying McHale was awesome or whatever but the idea he was the worst GM in the league is a narrative that bugs the hell out of me.

Also gotta love typos in something written by an associate editor.

Agree on the Vikings. They have had a lot of really strong teams over the years, even though they never won a Super Bowl.

I run into folks on a semi-regular basis here on the east coast that say they grew up following the Vikings and still root for them to this day. I never see this with other Minnesota franchises.

When I go see the Vikes and Twins play in Phoenix there is at least 50% Minnesota fans, probably more. When the Wolves play in Phoenix, I feel like the only one there.

Uhhh yea Mchale was by far the worst GM in the league. Just because you made the one good deal, doesn't even to begin to negate the god awful decisions that were made the decade after.

Wasting a top 15 all time talent in KG by putting absolute garbage around him year after year. And hey yes there's 2004, but lets not act like Spree and Cassell were some outstanding players that nobody knows how he got them. Spree became such a distraction and made so much money, that the Wolves got him in a salary dump with Brandons contract when he had his career ending injury.

Just one full year after the Wolves made the WCF, Mchale somehow ended up with a roster of Marko Jaric-Trenton Hassell- Ricky Davis-KG- and Mark Blount. You couldn't of purposefully have sabotaged in the time that Mchale somehow did.

We traded Sam Cassell and get this a FIRST ROUND PICK for Marko Jaric. That would be like if the Cavs traded us Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins for Ricky Rubio.

And we all remember how dumb Spree was at the end. What gets lost though is the fact the Mchale was going to give the 34 year old 21 million dollars on 3 years! That's crazy! (I even remember hearing that Mchale uped his offer more, but Spree was dead set at that point)

Mchale was the laziest GM in history. Any GM could of made a Love-deal move when you have a decade on the job. A blind squirl finds a nut sometimes
