I feel like it's been easier, since we usually don't have to deal with trolls. We've climbed up the google search results a bit, but this is almost a private board that you had to hear about before ESPN shut down.

I put the stats up on the front page after enjin changed a few more items that were removed from the free version, and I must say having 1300 threads/25k posts and over 500k in views shows that the quality of content is really there. I mean over 250+ unique hits today alone already for a site that isn't advertised anywhere or tagged for google searches is pretty impressive.

It's like a small town here. Your voice can be heard and there isn't a bunch of noise. That's not to say that growth isn't desirable - in fact, it's required to replace the natural attrition that will take place and to ensure fresh opinions and observations are injected into the discussions. But I prefer simplicity and familiarity over unfettered growth.

We have a group of pretty consistent posters, which is nice. Could probably name 20 off the top of my head that's how regular the appearances are.

Yes big props to JD for doing this its a great community as many of you have said. Its nice to be rid of the trolls which had gotten to a much worse rate the last few years of the ESPN boards and it would keep me away.

Thanks to LST for the props. Honestly I believe I owe the ESPN forum and some of the posters here because I believe reading and posting helped me find a voice in writing which helped me get through college. I wasted a ton of time also when I should have been studying or doing homework but anyway. Lol

Like others here I am in a place where there isn't much conversation with people about even the NBA much less the Wolves. Nebraska basketball has been pretty patheic since pretty much the time Tyronne Lue left so yeah. Lol Miles coaching seeming getting the program back on track (this year was a lot of fun) and the new Arena plus McBuckets in Creighton (also moving to the Big East conf) has really energized the area for basketball although people do really like the sport around here. Still not many people talk Wolves especially with the last 10 years of awful which has been the Wolves. Anyway thanks for sharing my fandom for this team and thanks for sharing all your knowledge. It is quite amazing the traffic this forum gets and people that post here are pretty die hard fans. You must be to be posting for all these years through the bad rosters we have endured. Its amazing that sports does actually bring people together much more than against each other.

I like this board as well. But I have to say I do miss the offseason politics chat and the crazy trolls (like blort) who were on the espn boards.

That must be before my time, because I don't recall any political chatter on the ESPN Wolves board and I don't recall anyone with that handle. In fact, one of the things I liked about the ESPN board (and this one as well) is that it mostly stuck to basketball and generally intelligible commentary.

It was a long time ago there. Like Lakers championships years. Blort showed up when we played the Lakers in the playoffs. The political debates were very intelligible. Wolves fans are quite smart although generally fearful that the worst is going to happen. In many of those years the basketball became so unbearable (think post sam and spreewell) that politics was all we were left with in the offseason.
