Nothing's going to happen for 29 more days. Now we just wait.

Right, but I think if an agreement happened after the Wiggins signing, somebody would have leaked it by now.

They can't legally agree on anything for 30 days according to the other thread and the CBA. It does MN no good by leaking that it's agreed to now as they can still take offers from other teams for the next 30 days to take back to Cleveland to get the best deal possible. I just don't see a benefit for Cleveland to leak it when they already know they have the best deal on the table that is highly unlikely to get beat at this point in negotiations. Their Lebron high is good enough to carry the fans for 30 days, so this deal isn't going to change the way the outlook of the team is going into the season. Leaks usually only happen when someone benefits and neither does in this case and could end up costing them both resources be it picks or money if they have enough evidence against them to warrant punishment from a CBA violation investigation.

I want Brewer on this team the guy plays hard and can actually play. I'd like to have a guy like him with the young guys. I'm not saying keep him at all costs or anything like that but I'd like him to stay around.

Also this talk about getting rid of guys with 2 years on their contracts or whatever. Can the guy play? It just gets old talking about the player's value because of what contract they have. This isn't meant to attack anyone its just a general frustration especially when its a guy that can actually play.

Sessions is a solid player but he is kinda like the well traveled Nazr Muhummed (if you remember him a few years ago) of PGs. Everywhere he goes he plays well for a few weeks then sort of disappears to a certain extent. He puts up nice overall numbers but he sorta isn't that great overall and he can't hit 3's (poor compliment to Rubio) or lead as a PG. I'm not against bringing him here but I think some people overrate him. He could be a nice enough addition to another team but I don't think he fits here very well. It seems like he has gone to a couple places were you would think he could flourish and he was just OK.

Yeah I like Brewer personally and like the idea of having a more defensive minded guy off the bench. I just don't like his salary and there are too many guys on the team making around 5 mill. Either way 2 vets (Brewer/Bud/Martin/LRMaM/JJ) need to go to open up space & playing time.

I like Corey, but his defense is overrated and his already marginal offense will be even more limited without Love's outlet passes. Plus we'll need to open up roster spots and playing time for our young wings -- Wiggins, Shabazz and LaVine.

Hey gang! First post here. I've been on Rubechat for a long time and RealGM some too lately, but trying to get away from a lot of crap at RC and just a new place in general. Heard this place is legit!

All of the smoke and buzz sure seems like this is a nearly done deal, it probably would be if the 30 day thing didn't exist.

Also think the Stein report of both Flip AND Glen loving Wiggins, and preferring him over anything (even Klay and his max demands) is very reassuring.

Hopefully Woj or Stein get news of an agreement long before the 30 days, because I've been getting used to the thought of Wiggins on this team far too long.

Then why did it happen a dozen times during the moratorium with trades & signings?

It does MN/CLE no good? I was referring to them coming to an unofficial agreement and letting it leak to the media. Meaning they would be done negotiating and simply waiting for the 30 days before officially submitting it to the league. That way neither team is likely to back out. Sure they still could, but it doesn't seem to happen often. If the Wolves feel they got the deal they've been wanting I see no reason not to pull the trigger. Getting your ideal offer and then trying to wait it out longer & milk it could backfire.

Not that it would tip Cleveland's hand one way or the other, but if they do or don't market Wiggins on their team site over the next 30 days should be an indicator if a gentlemen's agreement has been made.

I agree. Let's see if they introduce him at a news conference as teams always do. I'd not, I think we can assume a deal is in the works.

Maybe this is too simple of an answer/reasoning but I think a trade this big they won't want to do anything to screw it up.

Good points - and hello gents! Glad to be a part of the site.Must say, Lipoli that your prediction that leaked to RealGM the other day lured me here. While the timeframe may not have matched, I think in general you will be right.

Welcome! This is a good place and it will be good to have some a new poster with some fresh thoughts as we will likely be sitting around with not a lot to talk about for a few weeks. Lol
