Making a play for Bledsoe

Post by Crazysauce »

Was reading an article about how the Suns dont have many possible suitors for him and got me thinking if we could swing a deal for him on the cheap. The kid is 24 and had a great season last year before getting injured. Maybe we could deal Kevin Martin and Anthony Bennett and Budinger for him? Maybe throw them Shabazz instead of Bud if need be. It doesnt sound like they have many options. Maybe they would like the potential of Bazz and Bennett better than dealing with Bledsoe. We can sign him to a four year 12 million deal or so and roll with it. I mean Martin and Bennett make that together. Can play Bledsoe off Rubio kind of like they did with Dragic, but should be a much better pairing with Rubio being a pass first point guard. Can have Rubio guard the SG and Bledsoe the PG.

Lineup

Rubio
Bledsoe
Wiggins
Young
Pek

I know nobody wants to pay the guy that much, but wouldnt need that cash right away anyways until Wiggins is reaching end of his rookie deal. Also like I mentioned would have about the same salary as Martin and Bennett and we need to get rid of a guy or two anyways. Also sick of reading about Glen Taylor and his "comments" and thought this would be a better topic. Thoughts?

If Bledsoe wanted four-year, $48M, PHO would already have him locked up. He wants max money and is determined to go the route necessary to get it. Also, Bledsoe's 6'1. He's a PG and a PG only. The Suns two PG system works because of Dragic. Rubio is not Dragic.

At that point it becomes who do you want to pursue: Rubio or Bledsoe? Max money on the table.

I have no interest in Bledsloe. Another guy who doesn't deserve max money and will get it.

I think we make a strong push for Klay Thompson when he is a RFA.

Good thinking Bleed, but it depands on the Warriors`s end of next season.

It also depand`s on what money left after the new contracts of Rubio and Young (if will sign).

Agreed.

I think it'll come down to how Wiggins, Lavine & the other wings play this year. We might not need or have room for Thompson.

I think we see LaVine is a PG. I think Rubio is the team leader, but does he score enough to warrant a big contract?

The fact they are trying to look Rubio up for 4 more years tells me they hope Lavine can succeed at SG while also having the ability to play PG.

Grey I am sure they do. I wouldn't over pay him right now. He won't be a locker problem no matter what. Not his style. He can play for the bigger contract and we can see if he earns it. I style think Lavine might be better at PG. I think we should seriously look at throwing a max offer at Klay when he is a FA. It will totally screw the Warriors, but he could be a good piece for us with our young core.

Great article on Klay.

I think Flip sees LaVine as a combo guard, and is hoping his primary position is SG.
