The Playing time of our young players

Post by Eitan »

After shaking our roster, the Wolves has very good young core and we all wants to see how they will develop. So after the first 10 games (For experiments), I`d like to see next season at least that PT for those players (doesn`t matter who`s on the starting lineup):

Rubio - 30+ Min.
Wiggins - 30+ Min.
Young - 25+ Min.
Lavine - 15+ Min.
Benett - 15+ Min.
Dieng - 25 MIn.
Shabbaz - 10+ Min.

The rest of PT will devide between the other player on the rosters.

I gotta be honest I really like your minute distribution, I can't find a single number I would change

I think minutes will be much more skewed towards veterans, with youngsters' having to earn their minutes.

Shabazz seems to be our most controversial player amongst us -- I am not convinced he will be part of the rotation.

Rubio - 35
Wiggins - 30
Young - 30
Pekovic - 30
Martin - 28
Dieng - 20
Brewer - 18
Bennett - 15
Williams - 15

LaVine's minutes may not be consistent from night to night at first. Could see 10-ish for a while and then start to dial Martin's minutes down and LaVine's up.

I feel like we will see Lavine brought along similar to Rubio's rookie year where he basically came in at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarter and played as long as he was producing and being effective. Once he gets to the point where he is playing the entire 2nd and 4th quarter he'll get his chance to move into the starting lineup. I have a feeling with his shot selection it will take him a lot longer to demand heavy minutes from Flip. I could also see Bennett being brought along the same way.

Wiggins will be the interesting one with how much youth is on the team. Without the amount of youth on the team and expectations I could see him starting day one, still not sure if 30+ minutes will be there to the start the year but he should be getting those towards the end of season.

Dieng and Pek could easily end up playing half the game with trying to keep Pek healthy and Diengs emergence.

Like Tim said Bazz is definitely the wild card, its hard to see minutes for him but Lip's comments of Flips position on Bazz makes you feel like they will find something for him. Hopefully with the weight loss he wont seem so heavy footed on defense.

Wiggins will start from day 1 and play 30+ Mins.

Young will also start and get 30-35 with bennet getting the rest of pf minutes.

I expect dieng to get 20mins a game minimum as i can see flip limiting peks mins to under 30 a night to keep him healthy.

Lavine will play likely at the expense of bud unless bud shoot the lights out at camp and forced flip to play him over lavine.

Shabazz will be the odd man out. Cant see him getting regular rotation mins and play ahead of brew, lavine and bud. I know flip talk him up in interviews but thats what gm should di with his players to drive his value up.

We agree on everything here, world. I think a lot will come down to what Budinger can do. His ability and minutes will have an effect on both Brewer and LaVine, and possibly Muhammad.
