Does anyone else think this is bizarre? I mean what was he counting against the cap anyway and the dude put up some insane assist numbers last year on a bad team. So what if he can shoot he is making nothing and showed some promise. What is missing?

Does the Lakers still think it's 2008?

The free agent pool is shrinking, but Flip can't do anything realistically until he resolves the Kevin Love situation. That's the one clue that Flip is serious about trying to deal Love. But I'll reiterate that I know for a fact that Flip is very comfortable keeping Love through the season and thinks there's a chance he'd re-sign here.

It's getting close to the point where Flip needs to either pull the trigger on a Love deal or put the Love issue on hold while focusing on deals to move some of our current players and sign a FA or two.

Free agency is pretty much done, Bledsoe and Monroe are probably going to stay on their respective squads. Jameer Nelson, Evan Turner, Blatche, Sessions, and Shawn Marion are the only players I find even remotely interesting anymore

And yet we could definitely use Marion on this team. With Love or without.

Hard to imagine him coming to Minny at this point in his career, unless Flip throws him the full MLE and a couple years

There are still some interesting FA guys out there that haven't been mentioned like you could take a chance on Okafor. Honestly most worthwhile FA weren't going to come here and even fewer I would have wanted to give them the money and length of contract to get them here. Depending on what happens we might not have an open roster spot anyway.

Clippers are bringing in Cassell from Washington to be an assistant with Doc. Interesting some of the assistants moving around a little. Cassell intruiges (not sold on the idea but it interests me) as a possible guy to target if/when Flip turns over the reins. Now Cassell gets to learn from Doc that's even better. There is going to be a new wave of coaches its already started with young guys most of us saw playing in the league (some VERY recently lol) getting into the game.
