eh if you replaced Love with any other PF, the Wolves probably aren't in a lot of those close losses. They probably become blowout losses

Not if you replace him with another franchise player. Griffin kept the LAC winning while CP3 was out injured for about a month last season. LA, CB4, AD, or Dirk could have adequately replaced Love as well.

However, I dont agree with you saying that adelman did more damaged than rambis. That is pure adelman hate from you. Yeah he wasnt all in last season but il take him over rambis sitting on his ass almost the entire game while we get blown out repeatedly. It was rambis who started alienating love. Rambis pushed for darco and it cost us our amnesty as we have to used it on darco. Adelman at the very least coached love and pek to their best. Rick almost got us to the playoffs before runio tore his acl. Coached a 31 win team out of us when love was out almost the entire year and rubio about half the seAson. Not to mention pek and ak missing a chunk of games as well. Rambis was a joke of a coach here. His two year stint here see us sink to new lows.
World, I was not implying that Rambis was a better coach. I was saying he did more damage because he wasn't willing to develop guys, was in favor of trading picks for role players, maxing out our cap space before we had the necessary young talent on the roster, etc.
I also think Adelman did nothing to rein in Love when we was becoming a first class prick of a teammate. Adelman may have been the one guy that Love would have listened to.
Am I the only one that wondered why when Rubio tore his ACL this team turned into a bottom feeder team. Ricky was a rookie, and yet Adelman was unable to do coach this team to a win even with a healthy Love during that third part of the season. Actuallly Adelman may have done a worse job with a similar roster to Rambis during that stretch.

Re: Glen Fires the First Shots at Love
You make some good points, sjm. I do fault Adelman for allowing Love to be the player he was...that is, an offensive force, but a disinterested matador on defense and a bad teammate. We rip Rambis for not playing Love enough, nut Kurt was completely dissatisfied with Love's lack of effort and interest in defense, and at last tried to get him to work a little harder.
You also bring up an unhappy memory of the end of the 2011-12 season, when we really learned that Love was not capable of putting a team on his shoulders. We talk about rookies not generally making big contributions, but the Wolves completely folded after Ricky went down with the knee...5-20 after the injury, after going 21-20 with him. It was pretty clear that Rubio, not Love, was our most important player that year. Another reason I'm excited about 2014-15.

sjm - I can't blame Adelman for the post Rubio-ACL debacle. The Wolves actually held their own at first, until Pek went down, followed by even more injuries (Beasley and Love). That year was completely sabatoged by injuries to many players.

Who the hell did Rambis ever develop? I know we rag on Love for bashing his teammates, does anybody remember when Rambis stuck up for Andrew Bynum when he took that huge cheapshot on Beas? Dude was a dick on top of being a dummy. You can give credit to Adleman for at the very least Pek, who was a completely
different player under Adleman then he was Rambis. Considering Rambis didn't think Love was good enough to be the player he is today, you have to give all the credit to Adleman for Love as well.
As for Griffin "holding his team together" with Paul being out, it's not like he didn't have guys like Crawford, Jordan, Reddick, and Barnes on that so called sinking ship

I know some big Vegas guys and have heard some crazy stories from their host(s)----you get one of these guys to book everything for you; from rooms, rides, shows, you name it...anything....and they'll get it for the price of FREE . Because they want you to be happy at their casino (brand) .
But back to my point, I've heard of some stories that should make headline news but the casino just sweeps it under the table and acts like it never happen. Again, they want to protect their "brand".
Why can't Taylor see this?!?! Even if he does speak the truth, he can't possible spin in the possible way because the media sells. And all they want are reactions and controvertses that drum up interest in their program so people will call or listen----so that they can just sell, sell, and sell more ad space. So sad that a business mogul like Taylor can't see this.
BTW. The sports books odds that you hear about from Vegas (ie. Vikings -5 or under is 48 for a certain game) are made by 3 guys! That's it! Three guys locked up at some undisclosed room at the Mirage---not literally locked up. But very secured. That according to one host----said that he drives a VERY, VERY nice car.
These types of comments about Taylor border on comical.
Net worth of nearly $2B. Minority leader in the Senate. Forbes 400 list. Developing and building many businesses. Yeah, those things typically happen to every day idiots.
You don't think Taylor has a clear understanding of the importance of his "brand"? This guy has spent the past 50-60 years developing a clearly successful brand. Again, funny that a bunch of dudes on a chatboard think they understand the importance of a word more than someone that has built what Glen has built. We all like to play armchair QB at times like this, but I am going to side with the man that has done this successfully his entire life. While you may not agree with what he said, I just don't see this as a big deal at all......again, especially after how Love has handled the situation over the past year.

The Timberwolves are anything but a successful brand. We've been a laughing stock of the league for years because of moves Taylor and the people under him have made. This franchise is not a well built brand. It is a hobby for Glenn that he has been barely kept standing because of his incompetence. Put it this way. If Glenn didn't have the resources he has, this team would have folded already or been moved. Successful brands aren't 27th in the league in attendance during their most promising season in a decade.

Re: Glen Fires the First Shots at Love
I have to agree with those that argue Taylor has not done a good job of building and protecting the Wolves' brand, and his latest comments are yet another example.
Hicks, I agree with you that Glen has proven to be a brilliant guy in earning his billions. But I think you have to agree that the NBA is a completely different business than any other Glen has been successful in, and he has repeatedly shown that he doesn't understand it. It's much more in the public eye than any of his other businesses, and the workforce is entirely different than what he is used to both in terms of age and demographics. Yes, he's brilliant in the printing business, but he's a nitwit when it comes to running an NBA team.

Re: Glen Fires the First Shots at Love
Kurt Rambis is the worst NBA coach I've ever seen. And I've watched Sidney Lowe on the sidelines.
The man started Darko Milicic AND Ryan Hollins over Love. Yes, at the same time.
Rip Love all you want. Protect Taylor all your want. But, claiming any coach is worse than Rambis will incite a response from me every time. I'm 100% serious.
