So, he went back because he means so much to the city, not because the city means so much to him. He makes it so difficult to like him!

Get over it. I think it means a lot for him to feel accepted back. I am sure that is part of it.

Agreed Bleed. He's been pretty open about how much his hometown means to him and seeing how much he still means to them was probably what swayed his decision in the end. He wouldn't want to go back if he was going to be bashed & boo'd constantly.
