ESPN Insider has topic of Wolves going after Bledsoe. I don't have Insider any more, but anyone think this would work? Bledsoe and Dragic backcourt worked because both were lights out shooters. We all know that Bledsoe can score on anyone, but can he defend SG on a regular basis? He is a tenacious defender, and I have read many things saying he is super strong for a player his size. Or could Ricky guard SG at times?
Would be fun to watch offensively...just not sure about defense.
And I suppose this would require sign-and-trade. Do we have anything to offer a team like Phoenix?

Re: Wolves' roster move rumors
The young, rebuilding roster of the Minnesota Timberwolves figures to need a few years to gel and work its way into the playoff picture.
Or does it? One rumor flying around is that the team is interested in restricted free agent point guard Eric Bledsoe, a player who could change the direction of the Wolves in a hurry.
Minneapolis sports anchor Darren Wolfson tweets this morning: "More Twolves fodder to digest: told they have talked to the Suns about Bledsoe even after the Love trade. HOWEVER, no real match."
It's hard to believe there's no real match, given how many young assets the Wolves have accumulated on their roster, but it sounds as though Bledsoe-to-Minnesota is a longshot at this point. We'll let you know if anything changes in that regard.

If I am the Suns's I would want Rubio and Lavine for Bledsoe. I don't see that happening.

Re: Wolves' roster move rumors
I am not at all in the Bledsoe camp, and hope these rumors go away quickly. Bledsoe is one of many Suns who had a career year last year, and we don't know if he is a 1-year wonder or not (see James, Mike). And beyond that, there are a lot of things to be concerned about even in his breakout 2013-14 season. Is he a PG or a SG? If he's a PG, his 5.5 assists are too low and his 3.3 turnovers are too high. If he's a shooting guard, his 33% career 3-point shooting is difficult to get excited about. And then you have to look at his injury history, as he has averaged just over 50 games a year his past three seasons
There's a lot to like about Bledsoe too. He is a great athlete, and despite his 6-1 height, is a very good defender. But he was an erratic player during his three years in LA, and I need more than one season in Phoenix to give him the money he is looking for...too many unanswered questions about him.

Just can't see where Dunleavy is a fit on our roster. Snell would be fine.

I agree. Paying him the max is a risk, but baying him 10-12M might end up being a bargain. There is no hurry for the Suns to give him the max as there is no hurry for the Wolves to do the same with Rubio. If I was Detriot I would offer Monroe and KCP for him and pay him the max. It would be worth the risk.
Re: Wolves' roster move rumors
I always find it amusing that Martin has no value around the league and then this rumor which I don't really think is legit brings a pretty good return for Martin in Dunlevey who is a VERY solid player Snell who is at least a solid rotation prospect AND a 2nd round pick? Not too bad. The problem with the trade is it brings a 2 for 1 which is opposite of what we are looking for and even if you just want to dump Hummel that leaves this team with Brewer as the most experienced SG and like 30,000 wing players. That doesn't really make sense even though I can see value in getting away from Martin's contract although I don't really see it being that oppressive.
At some point I realize its likely Martin moving on makes a lot of sense but offensively he is a guy that fits next to Rubio really well as a shooter who can move without the ball and can get his own shot with functional ball handling at a reasonable level. Somewhat like a QB needing weapon's to develop I think Rubio will benefit from having a shooter scorer like Martin next to him.
After this year we should have some more answers about where this team is headed and Martin will have 2 years left on his deal. We can keep him or find some team that wants a very good shooter scorer for a couple million over the mid level. I don't think it will be that hard. Teams spent money on Caron Butler and Salmon both are old and neither were ironmen before they went north of 30. Its also possible nobody steps up and we need Martin to play SG for this team for the rest of his contract. I'm pretty high on LaVine but its possible he won't be any good.

Re: Wolves' roster move rumors
Bledsoe never got an opportunity to play big minutes before landing on the Suns. I believe he is a pretty good player but the max idk you have to be really sold on him and how he fits to do that. I think its possible he is worth it. It seems unlikely he is going to sign for less than what the Suns offered him so why even suggest that? If I was the Wolves I would see what the Suns wanted for him but wouldn't be expecting to find a match in a trade.
