We apparently don't have enough for the Suns to deal right now. 3 team sending Gordon to the Suns Bledsoe to the Wolves and Martin/Bud/JJ to the Pelicans. Other pieces would probably need to be involved but that's a decent framework.
But why do the Pelicans want Martin, JJ and Bud for Gordon? Phoenix would love this, but I don't think the Pellies love it.
Neither Tyreke nor Gordon can come off the bench and neither can play the 3. Tyreke was only serviceable as a starter last year. He was a pile of hot garbage coming off the bench. They also have nobody of note to play the 3 and Martin is an ideal 6th man who could easily be protected by Davis and Asik defensively. I'm sure they'd deal Tyreke to the Suns, but I don't see the Suns wanting him like they clearly did with Gordon.
Krawczynski says his sources tell him the Wolves are focused on trying to re-sign/extend Ricky, not on trying to sign Bledsoe. I trust Krawczynski completely when it comes to the Wolves. He is very, very plugged into the organization and never reports something unless he's sure it's accurate.

I trust him too. But the wording is a little weird. It's not like you can't multitask with resigning Rubio and trying to S&T for Bledsoe. Flip has certainly had more on his plate before

Alex made the same point, and I tend to agree...and frankly hope that it is true. On the other hand, it's not out of the question that the Wolves are hard at work at both tasks...trying to extend Ricky and also trying to complete a S&T for Bledsoe.
If the Suns deal doesn't happen, Jon K could be a very important piece here in allowing Ricky not to lose face in this deal. Whether fans agree or not, I suspect Ricky sees himself as a more valuable player than Bledsoe, and it has to bother him if Flip is offering a max deal to Bledsoe and not him.

Yep, he's saying what JK is saying...that Phoenix isn't interested in a S&T unless an all-star or a near all-star is involved. That tells me that Flip has offered up a Martin/Pek/JJ package, and the Suns told him to go away,
If Flip comes back with a deal involving Pek, I gotta believe the Suns get interested in a hurry. I suspect that might be next...otherwise nothing's going to happen.

I'm thinking something like
PHX - Pek, Budinger, Barea, Remove the protection from the 1st rounder we owe them
MIN - Bledsoe and either Len or Plumlee
I don't feel comfortable only having Dieng and Turiaf as our legit big guys so we would need one of their centers back but I'm not sure the Suns would be willing to part with either one of them.
I doubt this happens but would be totally stoked if it did. We could use Martin as our sixth man and have a great backcourt for the first time in years.
Maybe this is why Flip has Fesenko signed for training camp. We could do worse than Fesenko as an end of the bench third center. I think Pek/JJ/Bud for Bledsoe might work from a numbers standpoint without the Suns including another player.
Yes you could absolutely do no worse then Fesenko.
I don't know...I can't name five 3rd team centers much better than Fesenko. You don't want to see your 3rd string center on the court much anyway.
I'm looking at the Jonny K tweets you referenced, alex, and agree that he is usually pretty reliable. I kind of hope he is right. I'm still a Rubio fan, and I'm worried about what kind of message we're giving to Ricky if we offer Bledsoe the deal he wants. Maybe the best outcome here is for this to fall apart, and for Flip to make a strong statement that he never offered a max deal.
Fesenko has played only 135 NBA games averaging 8 minutes per game. I'd say you can do better than him pretty easily.
This Bledsoe deal never was going to happen. 4 years 63 million is the max for Bledsoe? Honestly I'd do that if I wanted him on my team. You are banking on him being better and a terrific 1 year where he actually played. I'm not sure of the fit with the Wolves long-term but I like his talent. If the Suns didn't have 35 PG/combo guards then I would say they should pony up this deal themselves but idk what their plan is.
Here's what seems strange to me: Wouldn't having Ricky and Bledsoe signed to max or near max deals be a block to our young guys getting on the court? We know Wiggins is going to play and likely start, but what about Lavine? I could actually care less if we deal Martin, Bud, JJ and Pek. Maybe we could get rid of a lot of bodies in this deal to open up some time for the young guys.
I'm in agreement with some of you that Flip's aggressiveness is impressive. He seems to know what he wants and how to get it. I like what Q said about the team developing an identity. Athletic and great defensively is a good building block for a contender. Maybe Bledsoe can also become the 3 point shooter we need in the starting lineup.
