The Way Early 2015 Mock Draft

Post by Volans19 »

Chad Ford put up his first 2015 Mock Draft and has us picking 3rd based on the upcoming Love trade. Just thought I'd post it and see what you guys thought for kicks

3

Cliff Alexander

Minnesota Timberwolves

COLLEGE: Kansas

HT: 6-8

WT: 251

POS: PF

Wolves' odds of winning lottery: 15.6 percent

The Wolves will send their pick to the Suns if it falls between Nos. 13 and 30.

The Wolves' position here is obviously affected by what happens to Kevin Love. If they don't trade Love to the Cavs, our forecasters have them picking 11th. However, given owner Glen Taylor's comments that a trade involving Love is likely coming on Aug. 23, we think it's safe to put them here. Alexander already has an NBA body and is a powerful athlete who finishes everything above the rim. His so-so basketball IQ and relative lack of elite size are the things holding him back.

I don't think we'll be picking that high, but if we are, Myles Turner would probably be my guy.

Agreed, I can see us anywhere from the 6-9 pick

Jazz, Sixers, Celtics, Magic, and Bucks are probably worse than our squad minus Love.

I'll add the Kings, Lakers and Pistons to that list. It's going to be hard to lose a lot of games with Rubio, honestly. I know that just sounds like homer talk, but even in a year where we were the most injured team in the NBA, we won 31 games. That was with players like Stiemsma and Gelabale as rotation players.

I see us around 10, probably. Right around where Chris Walker should be selected.

Rubio and Pek are 2 pretty good players. I know Pek will be out for around 20 games but still those guys are 2 pretty good players and Martin is a really nice scorer. If this team actually has some bench players that don't suck (last year was brutal, but its been a problem for years) then they could get to that 30 win mark which might be some sort of success all things considered especially if the young guys show some good growth.

Rubio, Martin, Wiggens, Young, Pekvoic
Willaims, LaVine, Shabazz, Deing.

That looks like the 9 man rotation we will roll with next year. I think we will be able to get to 30 wins if we get 60 games out of everyone. I really see Shabazz as the odd man out.

As for 2015 Draft. I want Kristaps Porzingis.
