I don't understand the point of this thread at all, Wolves fans are very well aware of how terrible the team is, this just seems like you felt like raining on our parade because you're bored.

Yeah, wolves fans are the most self deprecating fan base in the league. Very few fans needed this reality check.

I was starting to get optimistic about this year, and then cam posted that dreadful Rubio video...

Rubio - Nash/Kidd
LaVine - Kobe/AI
Wiggins - Paul George/Tmac
Dieng - Mutombo/Ibaka
Pekovic - White, Lay-up version of Shaq
I mean... we're destined to change our destiny and write our own history!

How is it not a good thing to get the number 1 pick in the deepest draft, since we got our last star in Love, in return for a guy who was not going to stay here? I was praying either the Lakers or Celtics hit the lottery for this very scenario to play out because once it was known Love wanted out, I started to take a look at places that could give us something good in return for him where he would be willing to stay. Then by a miracle Lebron goes home and wants Love on his team enough to make management go out and get him for that #1 pick. People wanted more two way players and we're about to go out and get one of the best two way prospects to come out of the draft in a while. Then on top of that, Flip took a home run swing on a guy who barely played last year who has the physical tools to be something special in this league right next to the first guy who has a chance to be special in this league. We've now gone from a team with 1 star to a team that is taking a swing to land 2 stars which is needed to be successful in this league. I understand the doubters in LaVine and Wiggins, but they have games that complement each other very well on top of all the potential they provide individually. The one thing this franchise has never won is a lottery and now we are getting 1 and potentially 2 number 1 overall picks for a guy leaving next offseason. Sure there will be some growing pains, but this is the kind of move you have to take to go for it all. If LaVine and Wiggins hit their potential, you just added Kobe Jr. and Paul George to your roster. How is that not a good thing? We weren't a playoff team with Love and with no real shot at getting a second star next to him to help him take us to the playoffs and stay, this is the next best power play you can make when building a team for long-term success. This could certainly blow up and not work, but I would rather go for broke in a draft like this past year's than keep adding guys who need that star or two themselves to be successful in this league as role players.

Good take, khans. It's been fun to watch the events of this summer roll out. After decades of terrible luck, there are a lot of events that had to go in the right direction for the Wolves to be able to get at least one #1 pick,,,and maybe 2. Maybe it's the start of a new era...

Short of big steps forward by other players and far better than expected production from the rookies they cannot build a contender around him. If Love agreed to opt-In or resign then what, a few more years of just missing the playoffs or if we're lucky, making them and being sent home round one. It is possible to have a super star in the NBA and still have no hope so give me the hope of youth rather than the expectation of more of the same.
And yes, I am, and have long been in the Love is an a$$hole group. There is no doubt about his skills, but I simply don't like the person, at all.
Thats silly. Your just saying the front office isn't smart enough to build around Love. The Mavs have been retooling for years and for a bunch of those years didn't look like contenders

Yeah and they've one championship and a bunch of one and dones in the playoffs. Sounds like KG years to me except Sam got hurt so we didn't win a championship.

Wolves have shown they have no idea to handle a superstar. Even if Wiggins pans out, you can't trust Glen to treat him any better then he did KG or Love

Adding into the fact, the Wolves have shown they've never been able to develop a wing player. Guess whose in charge of Wiggins and Lavines development?
