Ok so thanks to Glenn Taylor we know Wiggins is coming. I'm not sold on Young but what do people think the realistic asking price is for the Sixers? Any first round pick? Who all would we dump on them they actually kinda need salary. Lol I only see them taking back expirings so Luc, JJ, Shved would all be in play. I don't think they would want GR3 they picked up a bunch of 2nd round players this year.

Hey! Don't forget Turiaf - he is an expiring contract as well... (yeah, I don't think he's going anywhere, either)

And since Cleveland needs to send out about 1+ mil of salary more in addition to Wiggins and Bennett, we will either have the non-guaranteed contracts John Lucas or those other two guys. I suspect it will be those other two guys because it makes sense for Cleveland to hang onto Lucas for PG depth.

Although I voted for Bennett as starting PF, I think Landry has as good a chance as anyone. He's one of the few PFs out there that might be available for expiring contracts.

Cleveland isn't hanging on to Lucas for depth, and Thomas can't be in a trade with other players going out until December, I believe. Lucas + Murphy are the expected non-guaranteed deals to move.

Landry isn't a starter in the league and his contract is awful. I give it zero chance he's our starter. $6.75M over the next three seasons for a guy that's at best a big off the bench? Blegh.

I was reading up on Blatche and I came across this article talking about him participating on the Filipino team and it linked to the following article about Blatche seemingly still having problems that have dogged him his whole career. If we can get him for the vet min thats probably a great value, but it seems like he is still has problems. I doubt Flip wants any of that he put up with him enough in Washington.

I spent a few minutes on the realGM Sixers board on their Love Sixers Cavs deal thread. Basically it looks like the consensus is they don't think the return for Thad is gonna be much. Basically they think Waiters or Bennett would be thrilling probably unrealistic (except the poster who don't like those players) and realistically a 1st round pick would be all they can really expect.

And interesting point was that Luc has a relationship with Embiid so it might make sense that he is included in the trade. Sounds good to me. Would you be willing to give up a 1st round pick and some combo of Luc/JJ/Shved for Young who may be a 1-year rental?

I think I see why Sixers fans are not really expecting much back. Sixers got 2nd round picks as returns for Hawes and Turner. You could make an argument that Hawes had somewhat equal value to Thad last year as a 26 year old center averaging 13 and 8.5 while also being able to hit basically 40% of his 3s and block some shots. A center that can do that is pretty worthwhile.

Thad is probably the best 1 year rental out there. Maybe we dump all those expirings and give them a couple of 2nd rounders. JJ or Luc could get them something minor in return later this year from some team needing a guy...maybe. I feel like I'm lowering Thad's value too low, but who knows I can see it being what it is. I can see the Sixers and Wolves just doing their own deal if the Cavs aren't giving up a young player. Also maybe Thad likes it here and signs for a reasonable deal to be a rotation player which is what he probably is instead of a starter.

If Thad is coming over I hope that's all it is. Luc/JJ/Shved/2nd or 2. Or drop off Shved & just buy him out if that's what it takes. Still prefer TT from the Cavs if he's available.

I'm not giving them any first round picks for Thad. They can have 1 of Cleveland's late first round picks, but we're still gonna be bad with Thad and we still potentially owe a first to the Suns this year making the pick a future first which I'm not giving up for a guy who could leave after this year.

That's essentially giving up a 1st b/c that pick would be coming here otherwise. Hopefully they can get it done with at most a 2nd or 2.

That's a first from a good team. Any first from us would be from a bad team. There's a huge difference. If we never have the pick to begin with I'm not gonna complain we missed out on a bottom 5 pick. I would think we get Wiggins/Bennett/Miami pick and Philly gets Waiters/Cleveland first.

On the other hand if all the Sixers are getting is some random 2nd rounders they might decide to wait and hope to get more later when some team has an injury and get something a little better. What I am trying to figure out is what the Sixers plan to do to get that 20+ million they need to make minimum salary requirement. I hope they sign Keith Van Horn and Shaq to 1-year 10 million dollar deals. LOL
