Wow Dead Board _ let's try this

Post by Papalrep »

The Vikes got Teddy (Touchdown) Bridgewater at 32. I was delighted. I mention this on this board because Teddy will play QB like Ricky Rubio plays PG. There are stronger QB's but he has elite vision, anticipation, and a string enough arm to be effective. He will be better than Johnny Football.

Also, he won't have to shoot.

Blake Bortels went way too high. This years Christian Ponder.

I'll try this: I'm calling BS on this Thunder collapse yesterday, they made comical turnovers late in the game yesterday, WWE style. Me thinks the league wants a 7 game series here as the others have been already decided.

Okay. I'll bite on this. I'm just not a conspiracy guy. I agree that the league would like to see all series go seven games, but to suggest that OkC would purposely blow a game to manage the process just isn't feasible. First of all, why would the players agree to blow a game?. They have everything to lose if word got out, and since multiple players would have to be involved, it would be impossible to keep it a secret. 95 years ago, there was a serious scandal in major league baseball. But it was easy to pay off the players then because they were so poorly compensated. The players involved in that scandal were promised more than their annual salaries. How many millions would it take to convince Durant and Westbrook, for starters, to take a dive?

What happened yesterday happens often. A team got complacent and took its foot off the gas pedal, and the other team played desperately to avoid elimination. Since the talent differential from team to team isn't that large, the difference in energy can easily lead to a major collapse. I look for OkC to blow them out in game 5.

LST, I think the "take" is different than the black sox from 95 years ago. I don't think anybody is "taking a dive" per se, like with the Nets-Heat series too, Miami should have won yesterday. This league is not like the NFL, it needs its superstars to be seen as much as possible. The "complacency" by the Thunder didn't look too good, that's all I'm saying.

Too many air quotes?
