Will the Blazers regret taking CJ McColllum?
I liked Olynyk and I am thinking her would have been a great fit on their team with Aldridge.

I also like Olynyk, but they won't regret taking McCollum.

Lipoli is a huge fan of McCollum. Of course he'd say no lol.
After watching Olynyk in SL, I'd say he could have been a great piece and fit for the Blazers. I'm glad they didn't take him.

McCollum is reminding me a bit of Jerryd Bayless, another undersized shooting guard who lit it up with the Blazers summer league team not long ago. Bayless has been serviceable but far from a star.

McCollum will be a bench player for them, Olynyk would be a starter at center. Just a hunch but yeah they will regret it by years end.

Okay then, can we trade Bazz for him even up?
Re: Will the Blazers regret taking CJ McColllum?
McCollum is one thousand times smarter than Bayless and far more crafty with the ball. Bayless got by in college on speed and quickness, but he has only one speed and it's not fast enough to be a really good NBA player. McCollum has very good change of speed and direction in his game and the resulting ability to elude defenders.
Other than the fact they're about the same size, Bayless and McCollum have very little in common.

Blazers will not regret taking mccollum. The teams that pass on him like us and detroit are the ones that is going to regret it. As a 3rd guard off the bench, he will be good for the blazers and will be ready to play right away. The players we and detroit took(bazz, kcp, dieng) are not ready yet and they dont have a much higher upside than mccollum for you to play the 'potential' card.

Just a note.....
Anthony Randolph scored 47 points in a summer league game, and looked like an All-Star.
Stephen Curry shot 32.5% in summer league.
Might be a bit early to be drawing conclusions on anybody out there......

I view McCollum as a Jason Terry type player size of a PG with the skill set of a SG. McCollum will be a nice option off the bench for instant offense maybe be a 6th man of the year candidate some day. the blazers had a decent starting 5 but no bench McCollum helps them greatly. Downside his poor play making for others and the fact that he can be a little TO prone will keep him from being a starting PG, and his size will keep him from starting at SG.
Ultimately like Terry I think McCollum although not a starter can be a very big part of playoff teams I don't think they will regret the move.
