Oh Oh!
Oh Oh!
Kevin Love's people reiterated to the Timberwolves this past week that they had better trade him or else he'll leave via free agency when his contract is up after next season. With Love looking to exit, there's your No. 1 reason the T-wolves have not been able to find a head coach to take over for Rick Adelman. Hopefully this is more Knick fodder than anything else.

I don't buy it.
Re: Oh Oh!
If it does happen to be true, Flip needs to get that Laker pick. Retool with 2 lottery picks and and let Love rot with a worn down Kobe in Lala land.

Love ain't going anywhere yet. We'll start the season with him and see how good we look up until the trade deadline. Offseason moves should be as follows. 1. Draft best SG as possible with lottery pick. 2. Trade Barea for best possible backup PG possible. I'd love to get Calderon from Dallas somehow. Or go after Heinrich or Augustin

Re: Oh Oh!
As much as my tendency is to mock anything that comes out of NY, and especially from the Daily News, for the first time I have come to the conclusion that Love is gone. I note Woj's article in Tim's post about Sam Mitchell being a candidate, in which he seems to imply that Love has made up his mind. I understand, and hope, that this is just the result of a silly rumor building on itself, and I also recognize that a red hot start next year could convince Love to stay, but at the moment I'm convinced that he is leaving.
Re: Oh Oh!
The article below seems more legit. Flip waiting to make a hire till after the lottery does make more sense now. I mean if SVG was like yeah I'll come to Minny than we would have hired him already, but we haven't missed out on anyone yet. Lets say Love has said he might leave Flip should be looking at what he might be able to get right now. With this draft and some teams with possible top picks it might be the best time to make a deal. Will it work out for the Wolves if they make a trade? Probably not, but Flip should be looking at options thats his job. I am sure Love has said he wants to win and the understanding is that if its not in Minny... I really don't have a problem with that from Love especially the way the league is set up right now.

Re: Oh Oh!
I said early on that I thought Love would leave. I hoped that he was being honest about staying if they could build a team around him, but this tends to contradict that.
I am not as enamored with this draft as most are. While I feel it is deeper than most, I don't believe there are any clear cut franchise type guys available this year. All the skill guys tend to be tweeners, and the althletic players are under developed or lack the IT factor. The only one I think has a chance is Exum, and that is a position we already have filled. I would keep Love for the season and let him walk if he wishes unless we get a team to take on Pek and Bud as well. Letting him walk substantially reduces his options, reduces what he can sign for, and serves him up a big fat shit burger.

It's hard to take any of this too seriously when the so called knowledgeable sources don't even understand the options available.

Kevin Love can't sign an extension this summer, whether he wanted to or not. He wouldn't do that even if he planned on staying because he can only add two more years as compared to signing a deal next summer for five more seasons, and possibly at a higher salary as well.
Anyone who thinks GS is a top contender offering Barnes and Lee has to be a complete idiot. Lee is overpaid and Barnes lost significant value this season. GS would have to start with Thompson, Green, and pick before I would even answer the phone.
