I'm on board with Cam here.

I know for a fact that Flip wasn't too happy that our rookies didn't get more playing time. And when they did---and produced---it vindicated his selections.

Recall guys, he has "all of his chips" in with this Kevin Love saga. He won't trade him and is determined to keep him here, by winning. He doesn't want to be remembered for letting Kevin walk. So if a rookie gives us a better chance to win---he will use him. If a lowered salary guy is producing---he will use that guy.

We have to do it now before Love leaves.

I get the impression from yesterdays Funkadelic that Flip's refusal to put a time limit on having a coach means he is waiting in someone (assistant on a playoff team?). I did not get the impression that it is inevitable that Flip coaches. For what it is worth, Barriero's gut feel is that Flip does not coach. Zgoda's said earlier this week that with as crucial as next season is for keeping Love, Flip is not a bad alternative, at least for next season. As the
Timberwolves turn...

I just listened to the Funkadelic, and I would agree with Barriero that it doesn't sound like Flip is expecting to take the job. I am not completely sure, but isn't there a rule that an owner can't coach the team?

Zgoda bases all of his observations on personal feelings, which is why I give zero credibility to any of his speculation. Between Doogie and Zgoda, they could force every Pro team out of Minny in one season if they were running things. They both seem to get so excited when anyone agrees to talk with them, that they can't weigh the value of the information.

From the sounds of it, it won't be any of the three top college guys, and likely won't be an assistant unless he has previous head coaching experience in college or the pros. It also sounds as if Flip is waiting for our draft and lottery position to take shape before hiring anyone.

I am still hoping for Hollins, but don't really see Flip making that hire.

Sounds crazy, but be like Robin Hood and rob from the rich and prosper.

The one program (team), that I see constantly compete and milk the most out of all their players is the Spurs. Perhaps, we are targeting someone from there and can not contact them until they are eliminated.
