Lakers

Post by bleedspeed »

Lakers really screwed themselves up. First the Kobe contract. Now the Young contract for 4 years. I liked the Lin trade, but thought they planned to keep cap space moving forward. The losing Gasol. I think they are about to be bad for at least 5 years.

I wondered if the Lakers were going to end up bad after Kobe left. It looks like they might not be even good these next 2 years with him. The saving grace is they got Randle in the draft but unless he is a very good out of the gate what real impact player is on their roster right now? Lin? They can't have much cap space left. The Knicks might be in better shape right now than the Lakers.

The problem was that they've been going with the "well were the Lakers everything always works out for us, how could players NOT want to play with us" strategy. Unfortunately for them players aren't retarded and can the fact that they're old, no young assets, no cap space, no coach.

If you took out the name Lakers and replaced it with like the Bucks, they'd be the laughingstock of sports

I think the Kobe contract killed them. If he would have taken 10M like Dirk and Tim. I think Lebron and Mello would have considered the team. They could have resigned Gasol and had a great team even if Kobe is not healthy.

Yeah paying 9 million to Nash hurts too. They do have Sacre who looks like he might be a decent young center and they still have Kendall Marshall also if they want him back. At this point they are looking to have cap space for next summer I guess. Its gonna be fun watching Nick Young play with Kobe. Might as well sign Beas for the Min and see that thing really go down in flames. Lol

With Love not going to Cleveland, I bet he eventually ends up there.

You better hope Randle has a crappy rookie year then.

I'm sure Love is terrified about having to beat out Randle.

I am sure Love saw that on draft night and thought my odds of being a Laker just vanished.

Right now Love would laugh at the idea of going to the Lakers just like he told that magazine a few months ago. The only young player that excites anyone plays his position. The Knicks look to be in better shape I can hardly believe I said that.
