Say No to Dion Waiters
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1894348-cleveland-cavaliers-must-rid-themselves-of-toxic-dion-waiters
Dion Waiters is a negative trade piece in my book.. We don't need another Rashad McCants. Waiters is a chucker who can't or won't play defense and has some issues. His shooting percentages are lousy. He has below average stats almost across the board. He has a reputation as a defensive liability. He's undersized. He doesn't get along with Kyrie. From what I've gathered, he's a selfish player and some fans have called him a locker room cancer. I hope the Wolves stay away from him. We don't need to dip into the Syracuse pool and make the same mistake again that we did with Wes and Flynn. He's athletic but so were Wes and McCants.
What gets me is some ridiculous Cleveland Fan wants him to be the centerpiece of the trade for Love. http://factoryofsadness.co/2014/07/05/kevin-love-trade-enough-land-lebron-james-cavs/
Love for Wiggins, Thompson, and salary filler is what I hope for. If Flip is a good poker player maybe we can squeeze out a future first too.

I tend to agree with you, Ricky...and Lip's post recently said the Wolves' brass looks at him as a nitwit too. It's funny that you mention McCants, because I had the same thought when I was looking at the highlight video someone posted earlier today. He certainly looked flashy in his highlights, as McCants could too, but something about the way he celebrated on a couple of his dunks gave me a real negative McCants vibe. I think I would prefer keeping Martin's bad contract to taking a chance on this guy. I've really turned around on him in the last couple days.

If a trade with Cleveland did come to fruition, I would mind if Anthony Bennett was included.

Re: Say No to Dion Waiters
I was a proponent of getting Waiters as part of a deal with the Cavs, but my view has changed since talking to some folks in a position to know. I like Tristan Thompson. I also like Wiggins potential, but I don't want Waiters. Actually, I've cooled on the idea of dealing Love to the Cavs. First, I still think it's unlikely that LeBron will go back to The Cavs, in which case Love won't commit to stay there. Second, even if possible, I have serious doubts about Wiggins. There are questions surrounding his motor and his handle is subpar for an NBA wing. I just have a gut feeling he'll be a bust. I'd rather end up with Parsons, Terrence Jones and a first round pick or two from Houston.
But it's all academic since I don't see Flip getting aggressive or creative enough to make things happen. I suspect we will end up keeping Love or dealing him to the Warriors for some package that include Klay Thompson. I could see us including Gken Robinson III in get the deal done.

Somebody give legitimate negatives about Waiters. Him not getting along with Irving doesn't cut it for me. And yes, he actually handled that situation well considering the circumstances.

When it comes to the Wolves wings its like we're on a dirt lot next to a nice lawn, but the grass is even greener two houses down. If they want an improvement there they're going to have to roll the dice on Waiters, Thompson, or Parsons. Otherwise it's just sit on their hands and pray that Muhammad or Lavine shoot up to stardom or that the ping pong balls are kind.
So picky when there's nothing in their cupboard.

Lip-- What do you think of Denver rumors of acquiring Afflalo, shipping him to us with Farreid and Wilson Chandler? (Another rumor)

Papal -- Not a bad deal if we also get a future 1st round unprotected pick. But I think we'll have better offers.
Re: Say No to Dion Waiters
Lip I sorta feel that way about Wiggins except Bilas on draft night went all crazy about how good of a defender he was and it made me more interested in his potential. Is that defensive prowess legit? I haven't really checked cause he is on the Cavs so whatever.

If we take a shit deal like this, I'll be watching a lot more hockey next season. Afflalo has one year left on his deal, Faried is nothing more than an energy guy that gets slop buckets, and Chandler is guy you can sign with to a MLE deal any off season. You don't trade a star player for mediocre talent. Afflalo is the only guy I see as a legit starter, and he isn't sticking around with Minny after the season.
Give me Waiters anytime over the Denver garbage. Waiters is being blasted now because they signed Irving to a long term deal. Many people inside thought Waiters claims were true. I can't believe the author of that article blasted Dion for his offensive production, but failed to realize that Irving wasn't any better and actually had lower shooting %'s last season. I guess investigative reporting isn't what it used to be.
