You better hope Randle has a crappy rookie year then.

I'm sure Love is terrified about having to beat out Randle.

That's not what I mean.

If he has a really good season, like any team, they'll be more inclined to roll with their younger cheaper prospect. Why doom your star draft pick to 10 minutes a game after a very promising rookie year (or even trade him for pennies on the dollar)

I actually agree with you. If Randle posts 15/8 his rookie year. They might not feel to excited to chase a player that plays the same position.

Last night I played ball with the usual guys and we were ribbing the Laker fan and he said "We have Kobe, Swaggy P and Linsanity those guys are gonna bring us Chips especially with Pau's fundamentals not getting in the way." LOL

If randle average 15/8 the lakers will be thrilled in that he will be attractive enough to possibly land them love. The lakers will chase after love and will trade anyone on their roster for him. Only problem is they dont have a player on the roster that is good enough in a trade like that.

The number one problem with the Lakers is KOBE. I'm not sure why his reputation automatically repaired itself these last few years, but the guy drives away and/or throws under the bus other star players. This while playing a selfish, even destructive brand of basketball that hurts his team more often than not. He's "alpha" to a fault without the actual MJ-level talent to back it up, and it's infuriating to see so many fans and players gloss over all of his faults and mistakes like they never happened.

He takes supreme credit for all five of his rings even though Shaq averaged 35/15 in the first three Finals (winning Finals MVP all three times) and Gasol posted a higher win rate during the last two championship runs (in which Kobe basically stunk up the joint during the Finals). He ran Shaq AND Dwight out of town. His own coach torched him in a tell-all biography. Kobe is widely considered the game's best closer despite shooting around 33% in game-winning situations.

Now he's clogging up around 40% of their cap despite probably being a shadow of his former self, and everyone knows his ego won't allow him to take a back seat to ANYONE - let alone far younger, far superior players. His reputation as "one of the greatest ever" is just ridiculously, insanely overblown. If he didn't play in LA, he'd be savaged as the volume scorer and team cancer he's ALWAYS been.

Whatever. I hate the guy. I'm glad they suck. I hope it's for a while. And modern NBA stars seem smart enough to realize the Lakers won't be a real destination again until Kobe is off the books.
