Once Melo decides to go to NY then Cleveland will have Wiggins on the table right now. If Melo decides to go to Chicago real it'll be a long drawn out process with us and Cleveland. I'm guessing Flip has this deal on hold right now (not Cleveland) waiting for Chicago. He's gambling that Melo goes to NY so Loves price goes up. Cleveland is playing a false threat of pulling Wiggins out of the deal but Flip sees right through that false threat.

I like the idea of trading Love for Wiggins and Bennett and a Miami 1st and then going and getting Gasol. We'd be a top 5 seed in west

We'd be a lottery team, but we'd be a lottery team with a future which is all you can ask. The West is still stacked. Love is still better than Wiggins + Pau for the next few years.

If they were keeping him he'd be signed (dah)

That's what I'm thinking, although I'm not sure about a top 5 seed, but certainly in the playoff picture. This team underachieved last year and a lot of people around the league seem to ignore that.

Name any team that traded a top 10 player and actually did better the next year. It doesn't happen. That's just being realistic. I think you underestimate how good Love is if you think we become a playoff contender the year he leaves.

I voted "neither" because although I think Cleveland not trading Wiggins for Love is them just trying to create a dynasty potentially 4 deep, I don't think Love gets to Cleveland if Wiggins isn't included. And if other teams couldn't get a 3rd team involved for Love, then Cleveland sure as heck isn't going to be able to.

I think Cleveland is serious about not trading Wiggins, and I don't think Flip sends him there without Wiggins. I hope I'm wrong on this, but I think Cleveland's hard headedness is going to net them a negative result for everyone involved.

Yeah if they were considering it they wouldnt risk injury

Chances of a deal-killing injury are small IMO. If a deal isnt ready, no reason to sit him out.

Melo
2010 they were 50-32
2011 lock out year Melo traded half way through 38-28
2012 better overall record without Melo 57-25

We underachieved last year plus Dieng and Shabazz are going to be much improved bench players. Gasol is not Love but better low post offensive game and better defense. With Wiggins defense gets much better. Ricky will be improved offensively and with Gasol motivated and happy. PEK healthier due to playing less minutes. Locker room cancer Love gone. Motivated Flip Saunders coaching. Lavine free lancing creating with second team. Last year we had nothing off bench remember. Barea will be traded or benched. Shved benched. It has all the makings of a 50+ win season

In the first full season after Carmelo left the Nuggets, they improved seven games...and were much more fun to watch. And there are parallels between Love and Anthony...terrific stat stuffers and poor defenders who haven't been consistent winners.
