Love for Horford. Too bad it is a pipe dream.

Re: Far Fetched Hypothetical Trade Thread
Here's my far-fetched idea.
Let's say that Bosh ends up in Houston. Houston can't possibly pay Harden, Howard, Bosh, Lin and Parson can they? Parsons will probably want to be paid in the $10-12 million range. In this scenario, the Rockets wouldn't need Love (as they'd have Bosh). How about a 3 way deal between the Rockets, the Bulls and the Wolves?
Chicago gets Love, Barea
Minnesota gets Parson, Lin, Taj Gibson, Rockets pick, Bulls pick
Rockets get Boozer expiring (who they could amnesty), Shved, Bulls pick
Chicago get's Love. The Rockets free up cash to pay Bosh. The Wolves get 3 experience players and a couple of picks, plus they dump a couple contracts.

Boozer couldn't be amnestied in that situation, and Rockets give up the 2nd, 4th and 5th best assets in this scenario no way they would even consider this.

I admit, I'm not quite up to date on the amnesty rules, I know the Bulls have been talking about using it on Boozer themselves, is there a rule against trading a player and having the new team use it? Fill me in. As for the Rockets giving up a lot, yeah, they would be but if it's the only way to fit in Bosh, they'd consider it. There is already talk of Lin and the Pelicans pick going to the 76ers from peanuts.kekgeek1 wrote:MikeAz wrote:Here's my far-fetched idea.

Re: Far Fetched Hypothetical Trade Thread
Houston already used their amnesty on Scola so they can't use it on Boozer if they acquire him. You only get one under the CBA.
Re: Far Fetched Hypothetical Trade Thread
Rockets already used their one time amnesty provision on Louis Scola a couple years back
Re: Far Fetched Hypothetical Trade Thread
I'm pretty sure you can only amnesty a player you signed.

Re: Far Fetched Hypothetical Trade Thread
I guess I stand corrected on the amnesty provision. There's a reason I chose the Far Fetched Hypothetical Trade thread for it. Still, the framework of a deal is still there.
Re: Far Fetched Hypothetical Trade Thread
You can only use the amnesty provision on a player that was on your team originally when the new CBA was signed and you can only use it on one player, there is only like six players that could be used for amnesty, and boozer is one of them but it has to happen with the bulls.

Re: Far Fetched Hypothetical Trade Thread
Assuming the possiblity of Cleveland choosing Wiggins over Love next to LeBron, I think poaching Waiters from them would be realistic. I can't see Waiters being a good option in Cleveland with Bron, Irving and Wiggins needing touches. Martin, however, could slide right in for multiple lineups and add a reliable shooter to a team that would need it.
Martin for Waiters and Hopson. We'd then waive Hopson.
Rubio/Barea
Waiters/LaVine
Brewer/Muhammad
Love/Dieng (plug in Robinson instead and it's our SL lineup almost :thumb:)
Pekovic/Dieng
